Terrible Experience, Avoid at All Costs!
I recently dined at the Restaurant, and I must say it was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a disappointing meal. First of all, the restaurant's interior was dingy and outdated. The decor looked like it hadn't been updated since the '80s, and it was in desperate need of a makeover. The ambiance was far from inviting, and I immediately felt uncomfortable. Now, onto the food. The menu offered a limited selection of dishes, and none of them sounded particularly appealing. I decided to go with the "house special" fried rice and some spring rolls. When the food arrived, I couldn't believe how bad it was. The fried rice was greasy and tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. It was flavourless and had an unpleasant aftertaste. The spring rolls were equally disappointing, as they were soggy and lacked any discernible flavour. To make matters worse, the service was abysmal. Our server was inattentive and seemed disinterested in serving us. It took forever to get our food, and when it finally arrived, it was clear that it had been hastily prepared. The prices were not reflective of the quality of the food or service. I felt like I had wasted my money on a subpar meal in an unappealing setting. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone, and I certainly won't be returning. Save yourself the disappointment and look for a better dining...
Read moreWe came here for king crab before and it was 38.8 per pound. We saw the same sign with the special price for the king crab again so we decided to order it again. When we were paying, we realized they were now charging 48.80 per pound instead. We told them about the signage with the price right outside the restaurant but they said, "Oh, we decided to change the price today" . How convenient for you to put up some false advertisement and change the price on your customers? We even showed them the sign, but they showed no remorse for their error and just candidly took the sign down after.
During the course of our dinner, the manager came by and said they made an extra set of veggies by accident for someone else and asked if we wanted it. The way he said it seemed to imply it was for free but when we check the bill, they had charged us for it. We talked to the manager about this but after some back and forth, we just accepted to pay for it since we didn't want to argue anymore and it's partially on us for not confirming before taking it.
The food and atmosphere is okay, but their service is not honest I would say just because of the crab pricing which costed us over $100. Also, they never once apologized for putting up the sign with the wrong price which also made it seem like they did...
Read moreWe came here for brunch on a weekday. Only one other table there when we arrived. We got the salted egg yolk buns, deep fried ham sui gok (pork filling), Dan San (fried crispies), taro puffs, za Leung (rice rolls with fried Chinese donut) and steamed shrimp dumplings.
The service is quick and friendly. The food itself was okay. Not the best dimsum and not the worst. The salted egg yolk buns had a good amount of egg yolk flavour and the bun was fluffy but I wouldn't order it again. The Ham Sui Gok was crispy but WAY TOO THICK. There was way too much outside skin and too little inside pork. The Dan San was crispy and portion was quite large. The taro puffs were also crispy and the filling was quite delicious. Some had shrimp inside with the pork and others did not. The rice rolls wasn't soft enough and didn't have the rice fragrance I was looking for. The steamed shrimp dumplings were pretty standard. Shrimp was crispy and the skin wasn't too sticky or thick.
Overall the food is okay overall. No big misses or big hits either. Nothing I would come back for. But I would come back to try their...
