What a thoroughly disappointing evening from start to finish. The experience unraveled the moment we sat down—actually, correction—finally sat down.
We had a reservation for 7:30pm. Now, while we understand it was Father’s Day and busier than usual, waiting until 7:45pm to be seated for a reservation seems a bit ironic for a place that prides itself on hospitality.
We used the tablet provided (presumably to enhance efficiency and speed things up), placing six dishes right away. After about ten minutes of sitting awkwardly, a server approached to ask if we had ordered—only to find out the tablet order didn’t go through. Because apparently, even after pressing “Place Order,” that doesn’t guarantee anything here.
After finally submitting the order again, we settled in with some tea—nice touch with the warmer at the table, by the way. Unfortunately, that’s where the attention to detail ended. We finished the pot within five minutes and waited… and waited. Eventually, we had to flag someone down just to get a refill. That same pattern continued all night. No proactive service, no awareness. Just repeated interruptions to ask for the basic courtesy of a tea refill. For a Chinese restaurant, this is especially disappointing given how tea service is typically second nature.
As for the food, thankfully, it was excellent—one bright spot in an otherwise lackluster night. Chicken, tofu, veggies, pork chop, fried rice… all well-executed. The problem? Timing. Dishes were spaced out (likely due to a swamped kitchen), but the fried rice took over an hour to arrive. After a sarcastic remark about whether the restaurant had run out of rice, it suddenly showed up in 3–4 minutes. A minor miracle. Yet somehow, no acknowledgment of the oversight, not even a token apology. Just rice served in silence—as if that erased the wait.
And then the cherry on top: the bill. We explained all of this to the supervisor, who responded with a detached “Oh, I had no idea… sorry about the tea. Want me to fill it now?” An odd offer, considering we were already paying and getting up to leave. We asked for a business card to follow up with the manager or owner, and naturally, none was available. Just a casual “I’ll pass your concerns along,” which I’m sure means this is the last time anyone will hear about it.
This is a restaurant I once recommended to others with confidence. Sadly, after tonight, I’m not sure I’ll be returning—nor will I feel comfortable suggesting it to anyone else. It’s unfortunate when a place you once held in high regard manages to tarnish that impression in a...
Read moreWe went there yesterday to have dim sum for brunch. It's was the first time we went there.
When we arrived at the entrance of their parking, I saw a sign that says "for Sea Harbor Seafood Restaurant parking, proceed to level 7". So we drove around and around the building and went all the way to the level 7. There was already lots of cars parking near the elevator. So we had to pick a stall randomly and a little bit far away from the elevator. We had our meal from 11 am till 1:50 pm. We ordered lots of seafood and we paid more than $900 of our meal. This is the most expensive lunch I've ever had for my life.
At 1:50 pm when we came back to the parking lot, I noticed there was a piece of paper stick to my dash. It's a ticket from Impark, charging me $85!
They say I parked my car at a stall that's for the River Rock Casino! But I am on level 7 and this is supposed to be the parking for the restaurant, isn't it? So I looked around the parking, just to realize that only the stalls that are close to the elevator have the sign for the restaurant on the wall and the others have not. But when we arrived in the morning, I we couldn't find a spot close to the elevator, and that's why we have to pick a parking spot a little bit far away but without the sign for the restaurant!
When we climbed up the level 7, we could see there are tons of empty parking spots available to the casino customers. And I expected the whole level 7 of the building is dedicated for the restaurant. I mean, seriously, who would expect a customer for the casino to climb all the way up to the top of building to park their car there? But still, the parking patrol would not miss this opportunity to make money from me and they gave me a ticket at 1:40 pm, just 10 minutes before we came back from lunch!
When I called the restaurant and complained about this, they don't care. They say it's my problem to park my car at the wrong spot. But the thing is, the restaurant doesn't have enough parking stalls for their customers and their sign at the parking entrance is confusing.
I swear I will never come back to this restaurant and the River Rock Casino...
Read moreMy family and I went here for a birthday dinner and we had the worst experience ever.
We weren’t seated right away despite the restaurant being empty. Instead, we were asked to check their menu first to see if we “are okay with it” (aka to see if we are okay with their food prices) They do not have traditional menus. They give you an iPad to order from but they have to punch your orders in on a separate computer. Two orders did not arrive, so we followed up and were told that nothing else was coming. We found out that they did not even punch our orders correctly upon reviewing our bill Staff waited a total of 30 minutes to tell us that 2 of our orders were sold out. It took almost an hour for the first dish to arrive. We asked if they had clams (not on the iPad menu) and they said yes, and that they were $79 per pound. We didn’t question the $79 clams as everything was overpriced, but we realized that the price were for prawns when a prawn dish arrived. We notified them of the mistake (we would never order prawns as my sisters are severely allergic) and the lady admitted she misheard us (“Ahhh, CLAMS not PRAWNS” she said.) We did get our order of clams, but ended up getting charged the same price they were charging us for the prawns. They didn’t even bother updating our receipt, it said live prawns for $79/lb and we were told that the clams were the same price anyway without showing us any proof that they were indeed the same price (we felt as if the manager just wanted to rush us out of the restaurant) Staff were rude and not helpful at all. We were ignored by one of the men in a suit (we assumed he’s the manager) when we tried to ask him for help. It felt like there was not much effort made by the staff to listen to our questions as we are not proficient in speaking Chinese, therefore leading to misunderstandings, such as the missing orders and incorrect seafood being served Food is subpar and overpriced
To sum it up: please take your business elsewhere. This is by far the worst restaurant...
