Service was good and provided with a smile. However what we were given did not, by any stretch of the imagination, qualify as « food » except if it had been served by an overworked, ill and hungover parent trying to make sure their kid got at least a few calories at lunch. The garlic bread (which was clearly store bought villagio) was as cold as it gets and had clearly not been heated up (looked like it was directly taken out of the plastic bag). Each slice came with a tablespoon-wide stain of melted garlic butter/oil on it. The pizzas’ crust/dough were barely cooked, and the different types of « cheeses » could not be tasted at all, a slap of unsalted sour cream (bad unflavoured yogurt?) would have given the same result. For $21/pizza before taxes and tips the portions were ridiculous. Looked more like a starter, and tasted worse than a $5 frozen pizza. We went to this « restaurant » only because after a long day of driving, we did not feel like going out anywhere and we were staying at Le Navigateur. The person who welcomed us at the hotel told us that as the hotel was full we had to book a table if we wanted to have any chance at being able to eat there…. However, the place was entirely empty. Not more than 4 person in the whole restaurant… people seem to know despite the average google reviews. Indeed most if not all good reviews of the « restaurant » relate to breakfasts/brunches, maybe those are decent. None of us would ever...
Read moreNice place. But have been here 2 nights and the service is poor. First night I waited at the payment area for about 5 minutes for my takeout order before I was even acknowledged. Staff was so kind but my order was completely wrong. They didn't have the bottle of wine I had prepaid and offered me a cheaper option. Then they gave me my order and it was missing the salad. I had to come back. There seemed to be a lot of confusion between the front of house and kitchen. The second night I came to have dinner and some drinks at the bar solom sat at the bar for about 10 minutes before being acknowledged. Even though there were plenty of staff members running around behind the bar. Had to constantly ask for drink refills. Even now I am sitting here, my wine glass empty and meal finished. It's been 10 minutes and I am waiting for my bill or some acknowledgement. Great personalities but wow, need to pay attention to customers. I've had better attention in a dive bar. When im paying $19 for a glass of wine I expect a refill. I wanted to order more and a pasta, but nobody checked on me. Easy loss of 50$ for the restaurant. Plus i spent 100+ tonight already. Won't be back, money better spent elsewhere. Beware! Maybe table service is better...
UPDATE: I asked for my bill 5 minutes ago and the server is walking around polishing glasses and cleaning the bar and still no bill? And had made eye contact with me once. Ready to walk out...
Read moreIf you have ever seen the South Park skit “welcome to the authentic Italiano experience, can I offer you some pizza poppers” this restaurant is it.
Our service was good. We were there with young kids and they were wonderful. Prices were reasonable and cheap for kids. Service was quick.
There are visible TVs everywhere which is a huge down side for us at least.
We ate well in huge portions. Mostly the food was fresh and hot and tasty.
But do not ever show it to an Italian person. It is less Italian than Dominos Pizza. This place serves American food with québécois twists. Calling it Italian is knowingly disingenuous.
The most baffling part is the “bread bar” where you spread flavoured oil spreads onto commercial sandwich bread and then heat it on a shared grill that is not frequently cleaned and sits all day burning oil and garlic into...
