Golden Fry Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Rothesay

We recently visited Golden Fry Chinese Restaurant in Rothesay, NB, and I had a pretty good experience overall. The service was incredibly friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The staff was attentive and ready to help with any questions we had about the menu.

The food was quite tasty, and the portions were very generous! It's easy to overorder, so I'd recommend going easy if you're not super hungry. We enjoyed everything we tried, and it definitely satisfied our cravings for Chinese cuisine.

The only downside was the atmosphere. When we visited, the restaurant was quite empty, and it lacked music or any background noise, which made it feel a bit too quiet. However, it seemed like they were busy with take-out orders, so they must have a loyal customer base.

Overall, it was a decent Chinese dining experience, and I would recommend Golden Fry for anyone looking for good food and...

We placed our order just 15 minutes before closing, and they still accepted it—huge thanks for that! We tried the #2 and #5 combos, and the chicken dishes were absolutely delicious. The fried rice surprisingly had pieces of chicken in it, which we didn’t expect but actually enjoyed.

The Moo Goo Gai Pan was flavorful and well-prepared, and the chicken balls were crispy and satisfying. Both the sweet & sour sauce and the lemon chicken were spot-on—tangy, sweet, and not overly heavy.

The only disappointment was the spring rolls. They were overly peppered and had a strange dark filling that threw off the taste.

Dec.7 2019 ordered lg order of food off their menu to pick up. I had already quickly calculated what it would be prior to getting order pick up so knew it was around 61.00. Got there they tried to charge me 127.00 when in fact my order with tax actually came to 61.81. Refused to pay that and got her to recalculate the order....all the while the older lady from the back running and out to her hollering at her something ...not in English. No wonder order was charged wrong. After "recalculating my order as 127.00 WAS not correct she charged me 67.45 .....still over charged..,,guess she must have needed a extra????? BTW yes the food...
