Don’t come here. This location clearly prioritizes cramming in as many seats as possible over basic comfort or a good customer experience. Tables are jammed so close together you end up shoulder-to-shoulder with strangers, dodging servers and elbows the whole time. It’s noisy, cramped, and stressful — the opposite of a relaxing meal.
Layout makes no sense: tiny two-tops shoved beside high-traffic zones, larger parties squeezed into corners with zero space to move, and some tables practically touching the entrance or washroom hallway. You feel rushed before you even sit down. Chairs are hard and wobbly, there’s no room for bags or coats, and you’re constantly getting bumped because there’s barely an aisle. If you value personal space, forget it.
Service suffers because of the overcrowding. Staff are hustling but clearly stretched thin, so basics lag — water refills, cutlery, checking in after food arrives. Food comes out at odd intervals and cools fast in the drafty spots. The noise level is cafeteria-grade; you end up shouting across the table. Accessibility is an afterthought: tight turns, blocked paths, and nowhere to park a stroller or mobility aid without being in someone’s way.
This isn’t just my night, either. A lot of other reviews for the Saint-Bruno location say the same things: overbooked, packed in, chaotic atmosphere, long waits even with a reservation, and staff forced to manage a floor plan that puts turnover ahead of comfort. The pattern is pretty clear — maximize seats, minimize experience.
If management wants repeat customers, they need to pull tables, widen aisles, fix traffic pinch points near the door and washrooms, add soft surfaces to tame the reverb, and stop overbooking peak hours. Until then, there are plenty of places nearby that won’t make you pay to feel like you’re eating...
Read moreJanuary 2024: UPDATED REVIEW As a customer who dines at The Keg St-Bruno & PVM 2-4 times annually, I'm always impressed by the restaurant's consistency in terms of food quality & service and have never been disappointed. Last week's visit proved otherwise. Service was courteous & food was prepared to perfection as always. However...the portions have definitely been reduced! We immediately noticed the smaller bread size, my Sirloin Oscar was much smaller compared to last visits within the past year. My sides consisted of 1.5 tbsp of mushroom rice next to 6 small pieces of vegetables (my husband got 7). The side order of mushrooms was half compared to past visits. This was the first time my husband and I actually finished our plates at the Keg as we've always taken home leftovers. Shortly after placing our order, our waitress switched to another section and our appetizer salads were forgotten and wine glasses left empty. This was the first time we felt rushed at The Keg. We hope this was simply an isolated incident and the result of an off night, which is unfortunate at a cost of $200 for what should be nice relaxing dinner.
July 2023: The Keg never disssapoints! Sirloin Oscar with mushroom rice for me: phenomenal! Mushroom rice is now my favorite Keg side. He had the New York striploin, with pepper side, which is his new fave. This was our first time at the St-Bruno location, as we normally dine at the PVM location. Service and ambiance are equally superb. However, customer base is...
Read moreMy wife and I made reservations 1 week ahead of time via OpenTable for our anniversary. So excited to find out we would have a Keg in St-Bruno!!
We arrived around 10 minutes before our reservation and were greeted kindly by the staff beyond the front door.
We then were given an electronic token to let us know when it was our turn to be seated. The 10 minutes went by and nothing in time for our reservation. Then 15 minutes went by and then 30 minutes went by beyond our reservation. We then approached the desk and they said that we didn’t really have a reservation and that we cheated the system....um excuse me?! what??!!
Once we had been seated, we had the best experience with Catherine!!! She was knowledgeable, approachable and very friendly to the two of us! She was always readily available to answer our concerns and even made a special request for our anniversary with a dessert on the house! Her own recommendation!
*The food was great, maybe a little lacking on quantity such as the 6 gratinée shrimp we got as an entrée. Also maybe a little more of an effort on presentation as well. Nothing fancy, great tasting but nothing fancy. Not enough anyways to justify a 30-50$ steak with sad looking vegetables and awkward fries. I’ll make this at home with better care thanks.
The price is steep, the environment is great, food is good, drinks are ok. All in all the highlight was our waitress, she really made...
