Pizza Delight — Restaurant in Saint John

I would never recommend this location to anyone. Drive the extra few kms and get better service from people who know what they are doing and don't practice illegal tactics. I called to order a pizza deal and asked about the promotion special that pizza delight has on at the moment where I saw on the website. It was buy a 30 gift card and get a free 12" pizza free to use in the new year. I asked about the promotion because I wanted to make sure they had the gift cards and coupons available. Since I knew my order was going to be way more than $30. I would purchase the gift card and pay cash/debit for the remainder owing. The lady who answered the phone told me that I couldn't buy a gift card from them today and use it today. She stated that I had to wait and use it tomorrow. I was quite shocked to hear this, as far as I know a retailer doesn't have the right to tell someone when they can start using their gift card. Its available to use as soon as it's purchased. I told the lady that made no sense and to cancel my order as she doesn't have the right to tell me when I can use a gift card. It's the same thing as money and a company can't sell someone a gift card and dictate when they can use it. I called another pizza delight up the road at McAllister place and placed my order with them instead. They were out of the coupons for the free 12" inch pizza at the time so I had my husband go to the Loch Lomond location and purchase the gift card with the free pizza. I took it to the location McAllister place location where I paid for my order using the gift card & had no problems at all.  While my husband was at the Loch Lomond Rd location he asked the man why and he told my husband it was because of staffing issues and that they need to make sure they had the staff. The man also asked my husband why he wouldn't just pay cash if he was ordering now. My husband told him the he wanted to get the deal and the deal was only to get a coupon later if you purchase a gift card worth $30 dollars. I had to go to two locations to get my promotional offer and pizza order. I believe they just didn't want to give me the coupon for the new year and wanted me to pay for the order without getting the use of the promotional offer. I don't have to give a gift card away to anyone. These promotios run quite often to get customers into their stores. I have already contacted pizza delight head office in Moncton. I have contacted the BBB and also consumer affairs. I will be filing a complaint with the ad standards and also sending a copy of that complaint to Pizza Delight Canada. If this happened to me I wonder how many others they have done this to. This franchise needs to be stopped. What they are doing is not right and illegal. I won't stop until someone...

We had family in town and decided to head out to Pizza Delight for a meal, and while the wait staff were extremely pleasant, we got more than we bargained for. Less than 1 week later 5 of the 6 of us came down with gastrointestinal issues. We discovered that the health department paid them a visit just a couple days after our meal, giving them explicit feedback that rodent droppings should not be on their preparation counter tops. If this is something you need to be told, you shouldn't be running a restaurant. Here is a direct excerpt from the Food Premises Inspection Summary Report on November 29, 2023, at pretty much the same time that we started becoming violently sick.

"Observations: Rodent droppings were found throughout the facility, in the upstairs kitchen on flooring, shelving and food equipment. Droppings were found in the basement preparation kitchen on the counter tops, floors, and shelving. Droppings were also found in the storage area on the floor and shelving. All surfaces must be cleaned and sanitized. A pest control company must be consulted."

I won't ever order from them again. I've NEVER had a problem with pizza delights, but tonight was an experience that I will never go back to. We had ordered pizza and nachos and they were delivered within a decent time frame, however the pizza was completely wrong. Not what we had ordered at all. Once we called, it took a good amount of time for them to answer the phone, only for them to tell me it was not their problem and to contact skip for the mistake. Skip did not make the mistake, you did, and the fact that you couldn't take the time to listen or try to sort out the problem with me is something I will not ever do again. If you make the mistake, you correct it, but they did not do that, and we will not be ordering from here again.
