You must give yourself the wondrous gift of the Crêperie Bretonne! Several weekends ago, my Dear Brother was visiting us in La Prairie, Quebec CA from Boulder, Colorado. Wanting to offer him a grand time was our goal so we immediately thought to drive up through the lovely mountains to St, Sauveur and have lunch at the quaint Crêperie Bretonne! It was indeed a fantastic idea! My Brother was overwhelmed with the entire experience. Admittedly, the trip up was interesting to him but the magic of St. Sauveur and mostly the Crêperie Bretonne provided him with for a life time!
The Crêperie Bretonne is charming! You can see by my photo how well decorated they are for the season! Halloween shouts loudly as you approach the restaurant and amazement soon takes over! Every nook and cranny is full of trick or treat and a delightful sense of whimsy prevails! What a welcome this is to the hungry traveler! Inside, though, is where you find out how welcome you really are! Greeted graciously by one of the staff, we were quickly seated at a window table overlooking the lovely town full of hustle and bustle!
The menu is prolific! Sweet to savory, there are so many different kinds of crepes! And, they are HUGE and delicious! Cheeses and ham and mushrooms and white sauce and veggies of all kinds and on and on and on!!! Or, perhaps you are needing some chocolate with bananas and cherries and every kind of fruit imaginable! No worries, Crêperie Bretonne has it to offer! The sky is the limit!
I highly recommend for you and your family and friends to visit the Crêperie Bretonne very soon! You will quickly fall in love with its magical ambiance and delicious food and then be just like me! You’ll be planning your next exciting trip back to enjoy the delightful experience...
Read moreDisappointing-after reading the reviews we were looking forward to going there for breakfast. First- our server was incredibly rude to us! She was not helpful with ordering and acted as though she was annoyed that we were there. She basically ignored us. Second-both crepes were overcooked but mine was so dark it was tough to eat. We couldn't get her attention so that we could ask for it to be remade and she never came by the table to check on us. She went out of her way to avoid us!
I didn't eat mine because it was dry and lacked taste so we sat there until we found another server to get ours. At that point, we were aggravated so we just asked for the check. The place was not that busy so there was no excuse for her to be MIA.
I do feel that if we had a better server that the experience may have been better. That we would have been able to talk about the menu choices and if there was an issue it would have been resolved quickly.
Very unfortunate since it was our first morning in Saint Saveur and this was our first...
Read moreThis place is EXTREMELY expensive for what you get. The combination of a sweet dough that the crepe is made of and other things, like bacon or sausages with cheese or garlic butter with shrimp is absolutely not good. The production cost of one crepe is negligible, maybe 50 cents, including the labor, with all of the additions it may cost approximately between $2-5 per piece (for example, two pieces of ham or two small sausages or two strips of bacon, etc). They charge minimum of $11 and up to $20 and more. We ordered 4 crepes without anything else and it came up to $65 with tax. I think it’s extremely expensive. The sweet crepe that we ordered and shared was slightly better, but still is not worth that much. By the way, the syrup that they serve in a restaurant is just a regular table syrup, made of some cheap and not healthy ingredients. I think this is especially appalling given the fact that the restaurant is located in Canada, a country famous for their maple syrup, I would not recommend this...
