Mont Bistro — Restaurant in Saint-Sauveur

Our group of 14 recently dined at Mont Bistro, and while the staff were friendly and tried their best to accommodate us, the overall experience was underwhelming.

Service was polite but quite slow — courses came out inconsistently, and the long gaps between dishes made the meal feel dragged out.

As for the food, opinions around the table were mixed. The portions were on the small side, though most dishes were presented nicely. Unfortunately, the quality didn’t match the presentation. The fish was mushy, the chicken was overly salty, and the risotto had an overpowering cheese flavor that dominated everything else. My New York steak was the biggest disappointment — thin, way overcooked, and full of gristle.

Mont Bistro has a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service, but the kitchen execution needs serious improvement before we’d consider returning.

I would give this restaurant no stars if I could. My husband and me and our very well behaved dog are on holiday in Quebec Everyone has been wonderful here. We entered the restaurant and were told we could sit on the patio with our dog. We ordered fish and chips and a burger it was nothing fancy or would take a long time to cook We waited patiently almost an hour We had come in before any of the other diners there was no explanation as to why our food was taking so long we were very polite and patient. Finally after an hour we lost patience and went up to the counter and we said we would pay for our beers The chef was belligerent and told us we had to pay for our whole meal since he had just put it up and then after we refused to pay for something we never got he called us names and told us never to come back We are mortified never go to this horrible place !!?...

We had a great dinner in the center of Saint-Sauver right by the church. The hostess and waiters we're very outgoing and nice. It's a very friendly and warm environment for a family or a date. The food was outstanding. We had the soup of the day (broccoli/goat cheese), salmon tartar and the Portuguese chicken. Everything was made with fresh herbs and very well seasoned, simply delicious. The fries were nice and crispy and the salad was even better, crucifers and in an olive oil dressing. Reasonable prices considering the high quality food.
