Up front the sea food and staff here are fantastic. The wife started off with Oysters and they were 10/10 according to her. we had grilled calamari which were also 10/10. My wife ordered two lobster tails for dinner of which I had a couple of small pieces and we both agreed the lobster and garlic sauce were divine and also scored 10/10.

This is a very nice seafood restaurant and seafood store make no bones about it. HOWEVER for my main course I ordered a Black Angus Tenderloin @45.00 (Reasonable). i ordered it medium rare but it arrived definitely on the well done side. This meat lacked flavour and there was no pink to be seen at all!! I took one bite and new it had to go back, a replacement steak was cooked to replace it, this time it was undercooked and it was quite obvious the center of the steak was a hard looking blue, this replace my steak was so bad I didn't eat more than 15/20 percent of it because in short it was disgusting.

Following a conversation with a staff member I was advised their steaks were not cooked on an open grill but on a flat grill! ...... That's not much better than cooking it in a frying pan IMO and certainly doesn't justify the price.

We will return there in the future and based on our service and expectation of their sea food will probably rate them higher than two stars they are awarded tonight, however we will never order the steak again.

When you walk into certain restaurants that exude a positive dining atmosphere and menu you have expectations, a Black Angus Steak fried on a flat grill, is certainly not...

I heard about Olynicks from a close friend and being a huge seafood lover, I decided to give it a try. My first experience was a visit to the fish market. I was amazed by the quality and the variety they had, including delicious ready to go tartars, ceviche and seafood salads. Upon my second visit, I got to enjoy an incredible meal at their restaurant seated on their outdoor patio. My friends and I were served dishes that were so incredibly fresh, we felt as though we were eating from ocean to table. I was there once again last night, however this time, my dining experience was inside the restaurant. The decor is modern and has a great atmosphere. We were a large crowd and they were able to accommodate us to enjoy a fantastic dining experience. The service was very attentive and well organized. We began our meal with entrees for the table which consisted of seafood platters towering with juicy jumbo shrimp along with spectacular oysters. We had delicious fried shrimp and fried calamari which were very tender well executed, the batter was crispy and didn’t come apart. All in all the food was fantastic, extremely fresh and the quality is superior to most places I have visited. I highly...

Delicious food, but service needs improvement We had dinner at Restaurant Olynicks and the food was truly excellent. The Escargots gratinés are a must—rich, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The $1 oysters were fresh and delicious. The Assiette de pieuvre grillée was ideal for sharing if we had known in advance, we would have split it!

Unfortunately, the service didn’t match the quality of the food. We waited 25–30 minutes before our server greeted us, and the oysters were brought out at the same time as our entrées. Then we waited another 35–45 minutes for our main courses. This seemed like poor coordination from the server—the oysters should have been served first, followed by the entrées and then the mains.

The kitchen did a fantastic job; the issue was with how the meal was paced by the server. We’d definitely return for the food, but we hope for a smoother service...

It is a lovely terrasse. The music and ambiance was very nice. I made the mistake of ordering the “Planche du pêcheur” chefs inspiration fish plate. Never ever did I expect to get a can of sardines. I could not believe it! The little snails were also a big turn off. Really the only thing on it that was palatable was the cured salmon. That plate should really be removed from the menu in my opinion. Aside from that, the Caesar salad was very good and so was the bread. We also tried the octopus which was marinated with lime and served in very thin slivers. It was pleasant.

Excellent seafood. One of the best snow crab legs I have enjoyed, super fresh and so sweet. Didn’t even need the garlic butter to enjoy them. I travel a lot globally and this was by far one of the best restaurants I have visited. The seafood platter was fantastic as was the black cod. And you wouldn’t think it, but even the fries were amazing. If you’re in Montreal, definitely worth the drive to come and try it for yourself. The service was outstanding. You will not regret it.
