Quick review: Lacking with flair, need a second chance, seems like very little in the way of vegetarian or vegan options, an impossible patty for $3+ seems a little extra. Good notes: friendly servers, good atmosphere, great location, wheelchair accessible, family friendly. Experience: was seated, couple seated after was served right before us, they got their food and drinks right away, we waited about 40 minutes for food and to be asked for another drink.. When the burger and salmon burger arrived we asked for hot sauce (it never came) and all the food was ā€œcoldā€- Barely warm. The restaurant was clean, every one was friendly , maybe it was just a luck of the draw one of those nights and not a reflection of an experience that could have been. Life happens. But getting cold food sucks. Yes we ate it, it was passable in that state so I’m sure hot would have tasted better. The menu is small and it’s a little pricey for what you get, 10$ for fries is a lot.. limited menu is for the single chef in the back but if the 10 items cause 1 hour waits for a burger, then maybe a change ?

Would go again and try another change and another dish. Don’t write this friendly place off....

The food was actually great šŸ‘ I had a smash burger with fries and no complaints there. But the service? It was so bad it almost felt like a prank.

My boyfriend and I were seated and handed menus… then ignored for over 20 minutes. No water, no check-in just pure silence. When someone finally came by to ask what we wanted to drink and if we were ready to order, we jumped on the chance. But a few minutes later, another staff member came over trying to hand us menus, we already ordered. Does anyone there talk to each other?

When the food arrived, we were offered dips and asked for vinegar for the fries… which never showed up. And that was the last we saw of our server until the end of the meal. Meanwhile, we watched other tables get multiple friendly check-ins like they were VIPs. We couldn’t help but feel like we’d done something to offend them just by existing.

We came in excited for dinner, left wondering what on earth we did to deserve the cold shoulder. Great kitchen, but front-of-house needs a serious...

This is a great addition to salt spring island. It is a fun and happening place, even on a Tuesday in bad weather! It was great to see so many people enjoying good company and living life in the evening (Ganges is pretty sleepy in the pm) I am a pescatarian so my options were very limited at cassette (only three dishes but they sold out of the fish stew). I ordered the salmon and enjoyed the way it was cooked and flavour was excellent. The potato cake it came with was so good but so bad (very greasy). I normally wouldn’t have eaten the whole thing but I was extremely hungry and the salmon was not enough. After I finished I felt heavy and the grease stuck to me. I understand the dive bar concept but when you are paying over $30 for an entree, the plate needs to represent that, even in a ā€œdive barā€. If the ratio of protein, carbs and vegetables was considered, it would have made me want...

We asked for hot water but they didn’t have a kettle so they weren’t able to provide us with any. A kettle isn’t the only way to boil water, but I guess their resources were limited. It looked like there was only one chef in the kitchen and it was a busy long weekend night. Every table was occupied. It took over an hour for our food to come out because there was a large table who ordered ahead of us. All we ordered were their burgers and fries. The waiter was kind and apologetic and ended up offering to give us our drinks for free. I think the food was good but we were all starving by the time our food came. We inhaled it so fast that it’s really hard to say.
