Update May 2024: it seems their cookie is now quite a bit smaller and less chewy. I’d rather they increase the price of the cookie and keep it the same than make it smaller. It’s lost its magic. :( this results in a slightly lower review sadly.

If you don't get an "Oat Back Cookie" from this place, you are just losing money. This oatback cookie will feed you and your family all day. It's full of nuts, dates, coconut, fruit, oats, and everything in between. You need this cookie in your life. I got 2 over the course of 5 days and I've been eatin' this last cookie.

The fruit smoothies are great. Can't go wrong. They hit the spot and easily the best on the island.

Let me tell you about the last time I went here. I was hungry, some might famished. There was a breakfast bun available, but it was 16 dollars. And I don't eat a lot in the morning so that felt steep to me at the time. I looked in the window and saw a 10 dollar chicken pesto croissant. I chose that, since it was a little cheaper and I figured I'd only eat half. No. No sir. I ate that whole thing. It was one of the most delicious croissants I've ever tasted. The garlic butter was unreal. I could have drank it from a stray. Fresh and delicious.

Don't sleep on...

Fantastic! Newly renovated and run like a well oiled machine! I arrived at 7:00am out of necessity to work remotely and be fuelled with glorious coffee. Amazing customer service and great WiFi. Had a quad iced Americano with a delicious frittata, served with a yummy salsa jam. Kids came and met me for breakfast, once they dragged themselves out of bed. They loved everything they chose. By then I was getting hungry again, so I apologized for lingering, and ordered the quinoa salad with a date square. Probably the best quinoa salad I've ever had. Perfectly seasoned and fresh! The staff continue to make me feel welcome as I write this review. Love seeing a manager who gets her hands dirty, buzzing around keeping everything pristinely clean, and is supporting her staff by pitching in and cheering them on. Thank you, Salt Spring Coffee for making a working Friday...

I have been ordering coffee from This company for several years now. I can't do without it. My husband and I both love the Med Roast Peru. We get that in whole bean and grind it for the french press and it's heaven. Really fruity and has a tantalizing acidity without too much bitterness. I was taught to throw a dash of salt in the grinds for the bitterness and I swear it brings out the flavor! I have a subscription though their website and have it several bags shipped every 6 Months in their 2lb bags to reduce the amount of shipping and always have it in the house. I love that they do the slight discounts on the subscriptions as well. Customer service is amazing as well and they always respond promptly and once in a while I find a treat in the order like a local chocolate bar or something. Just amazing...

The coffee is always fantastic and they are open earlier than most places on the island. I was super sad to find they don’t make/serve their fabulous Benny’s for breakfast anymore. They were so good. So I settled for a very expensive breakfast sandwich instead, which was ok but I probably wouldn’t get it again. *EDIT I don't know how to reply so I'll mention here that the breakfast sandwich was okay, nothing special, very basic although fresh and tasty but for almost $16 I expected to be wow'd. I know things cost more on an island (and you are pricier than average as you pay your staff living wages) but IMO that was a $11-12 sandwich, not $15+
