This is a wonderful delightful place to go. Everytime for the last 30 years I have been going here. The customer service is professional and personable. We have been going here ever since I was a kid and we just loved the chocolates and the ice cream and every Christmas we would always get a Harlan's chocolate in our Christmas stockings.
This is amazing the history and the perfection of chocolates are delicious, almost tried everything here it always surprises me.
This time especially, I needed to get 14 milk chocolate horseshoes for my friends who helped me out. I called on Sunday morning and got a hold of Trish, I explained my dilemma, thankfully Trish was able to check out and see if her chololatier was available for such an order Trish could not promise me, but that she said she would try. X fingers. Wednesday rolled around (3) days later and even though Harlan's was closed for the week due to inventory. Trish was able to squeeze me in and we had planned on coming down to Ganges and of though the store looked closed we rent round back, parked and as I was getting out of the car, Trish was unlocking the back door. I said hello Trish and she recognized me as I had come to her shop with my niece and nephew for chocolate and milkshakes which were amazing highly recommend!! I was able to purchase ,14 horseshoes, milk chocolate and the price was right!!
So if you are looking for professional, polite, well trained, talented staff and you would like something unique, this is the place to get all of your chocolate treats and so much more.

Read moreThe gelato was tasty there. I tried the whiskey gelato and it was great. I also tried the blueberry cheesecake and that was great tasting too. The reason I am giving it two stars is because of the poor customer service there - I saw two flavors I wanted to sample before deciding on which one I want and so I asked the cashier if I could sample a couple and he replies with a smirk “you can try like...one” and then walks away. I was there with my daughter and she noticed the attitude right away. I decided to ignore it and we just made our gelato orders. I wanted to pick up their ‘traditional milkshake’. It had no details listed if their ‘traditional’ milkshake was chocolate or vanilla l, so we asked him what flavors they had and he overly gestures with his hands at all the gelato, as if we were ignorant. I laughed it off...I mean they have traditional milkshake listed with no details so how am I supposed to know they are using any flavor for their milkshakes??!?
The gelato was decent, but the customer service was low class. Talk about making people feel unwanted! I’m sure they will see this review and so if this was the owner then you need to check you attitude if you want your business to survive. If this was just a cashier - you are a cashier at a gelato shop on a tiny island...get over yourself.
BTW there is Glads ice cream right across the street with way friendlier service and more...
Read moreSuper disappointed. Went in to the store before dinner to ask when the stores was closing? Was told 9pm by the employee. Chose our flavors for later, confirmed what time she would close, mentioning that we (party of 4) would definitely be coming back for gelato before 9pm; only to find the store closing up at 8:42…. Had we known she was closing at 8:30 we would have been there by then…. After all that was surprised she wouldn’t at least come to the front door to engage with us? Don’t mean to cry over spilled gelato but just an fyi about the professionalism of the...
