This is a must try when you’re in salt spring! The food is amazingly fresh and tasty. The portions are quite large, so neither of us were able to finish it but we sure did try! It’s a gorgeous concept with a tree growing right in the centre and little birds will come perch on the tables or eat crumbs. You can feed them little scraps of bread and it’s just a lovely experience. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was perfect. You have to go early as it tends to get busy in the later mornings. The tofu scramble is one of the best I’ve ever tried. You won’t believe it isn’t egg! Texture and taste were a 10/10 and it just had the right amount of gooey cheesiness to it. Also, I’m pretty sure the jam is freshly made on the island. Great food, great atmosphere.

The green Thai curry rice here is absolutely phenomenal! The perfect balance of creamy coconut milk, fragrant herbs, and just the right amount of spice makes it an unforgettable dish. The vegetables were fresh and crisp, and the chicken was cooked to perfection, soaking up all the delicious flavors. The best thing about this dish, is the quality of their ingredients are from farm-to-plate. After finishing an entire bowl I don’t feel stuffy. If you love Thai food, this green curry rice is a must-try! The weather wasn’t good on the day we went, however, I could imagine it will be nice if the weather is good. Highly recommended!

I have mixed feeling about this place. The ambiance is very island like and of course you have the famous tree in the middle of the cafe, which adds character. However, the food took around 30 minutes to arrive, which I was unimpressed by. This had nothing to do with the waitresses, but that really killed my experience because the place wasn’t even packed. It was too long of a wait for a burger to be made in my opinion. Good news is the food tasted great and although it was a bit pricey for what you got, this is definitely one of the more popular tourist attractions to eat at. I’d also like to note that the veggie burger tasted like meat, which is great for vegetarian who miss their meat. I know at night they have performances, which really adds a vibe. So yes, I would recommend checking this place out, only if you’re looking for a slow, laid back experience with nothing else in your day - it’s definitely not a place to have a quick meal at.

Poor service, wait time and food. The burgers were so charred we had to cut off the outer layers. Ceasar salad was nearly dressing free. Brewed iced tea was watered down (and yes, I was aware it was brewed tea - not Nestle). All the waitresses just huddled in the kitchen discussing their astrology while we hoped they would ask how are meals were so we could voice our concerns. We had 5 adults and 2 kids so they had to split us into 2 tables, but the 1 table ordered and started their meal before the second one waited to order. We were still waiting for our food after the first table had finished. Our server had quite the attitude when she finally came around to check on us, and the fake smile with dead eyes only made the experience worse. An apology or some authenticity would have gone a long way. I used to love this place while on holidays, but it has taken a turn (like many places post Covid). So disappointing.

I visited this restaurant with my boyfriend during the summer because they were so popular on social media. The food was very good and the chicken skewers were delicious. But I got several fish bones in the salmon sandwich, but that didn't take away from how good it was. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice and we did dine under a tree. However, the only complaint I would like to make is that there were too many insects flying around us. At first, there was a small cup of jam on the windowsill next to our table to attract insects, but the waiter took that jam away, causing all the flying insects to start flying towards my food.

Came here on a Friday night and the wait was 1.5 hours, so nope! Came back on a Sunday afternoon and no lineup at 2pm. Had a late lunch with the kids. Good extensive kid friendly options. Good variety of dishes rather than your standard burger and fries or fish and chips. Everything was fresh. They only have one washroom which is rather cramped for anyone needing more space. Recommend you put yourself on the waiting list early and walk around and shop and come back to eat. There may not be sufficient cover from the sun so be aware for those that are photosensitive.
