I ate here this past week. The man who prepared the meal was nice and a good conversationalist.
Other than this, I would not eat here again.
Let me explain...
I watched the man prepare several meals before me - the small portion being the most popular. He added one plastic container of pre-portioned veggies that included 4 small pieces of broccoli, a couple pieces of other vegetables. He also added, one scoop (ice cream scoop) of precooked chicken. Chicken was approximately 2 ounces.
As I watched I decided to upgrade to the regular size as I thought the small portion was too small and had little ingredients added to it. I thought, I'll pay the money to get more 'nutrition'.
Unfortunately as I watched him prepare mine, he grabbed the exact same pre-portioned veggies and one scoop (2 ounces) of chicken. BUT he added nearly twice as many noodle. I was dismayed.
I asked what I the difference was between the small and regular size... and he replied you get more veggies and meat. And noodles.
When I got it home, I took a closer look and indeed there was only 4 pieces of broccoli, a few other veggies and barely any chicken amongst the huge pile of noodles.
The taste was okay... but bland.
Looking back now, you barely get anything for approx the $12-$18 you spend. Either way, it is just a pile of noodles. Its in the end of being gross.
Its is over priced, or, they're cheap on the ingredients; you pick. You will be paying for a pile of noodles. A package of noodles that cost $2 in the grocery store, taproot.
I hope it improves - it could fair...
Read moreI recommend asking to mix the malaysian peanut + red thai chilli sauces, it tasted very nice and wasn’t spicy. I got a large tofu with fresh egg noodles. What would make this better is it they gave slightly less noodle and slightly more vegetables. With the amount of noodles they gave, I couldn’t finish it on my own. Note that it takes about 10 minutes to prepare as they make it fresh and get many orders, but it’s nice and hot when it does come.
I thought that paying $4 to get more vegetables is a bit much, I probably would have done it for $2 extra though.
I also had the taro bubble tea and recommend the taste. The person in front of me said that the tapioca pearls crumbled (normally elsewhere they are squishy) and the owner didn’t know whether the lychee jelly contained gelatin (which wouldn’t be vegetarian) so I asked not to put any toppings in the bubble tea. It still tasted good but you miss the full BBT experience without any “bubbles”.
It would be nice if the chopsticks were in fully sealed packages.
They only have take-out boxes but I put it into a bowl at home. There’s room for improvement in little things mentioned above but I’d definitely have it again as it...
Read moreReviewing the Food Truck experience. It wasn't bad and it wasn't good. Not memorable. Barely a meh; and I tend to rate things higher. My boyfriend got the Teriyaki Chicken and I got the Sweet Chili. Two pretty different flavour profiles but they ended up tasting quite similar. Considering the other fares around, I regretted this choice. I would reccomend a better variety of choices where the flavours are quite different and ensure that the sauce flavours aren't ambiguous. Like if you say something is Teriyaki, make sure it hits that note home hard. It should vary quite a bit from the other flavours. Could have opportunity to be much better. For the price point and how much noodle was served compared to veggies, they have an opportunity to add better veggies like peppers, water chestnuts, baby corn etc while still keeping the same volume of noodle. Left feeling dissappointed more...
