The last time I was in this building it was called Trinity! It’s now a restaurant with patio seating. I was visiting Sarnia and haven’t had opportunity to go to restaurants in town so I’m not sure how it compares to the other options there today. I give it’s a solid 3 ⭐️ by London ON standards. The atmosphere is really nice though. There was a cool pass-thru window to the patio and LOTS of craft beer on tap with a great drinks menu (I should have taken photos of those). I was there midday Saturday for food, I could imagine it being a great place for pints, socializing and bites once restrictions are fully lifted! I had FISH N CHIPS - fish was crispy the double deep-fried french fries were not crispy but they had malt vinegar so I drenched them. The tartar and bit of creamy slaw were good. -DILL PUFFS - thick dough shaped like a pierogi deep fried stuffed with cream cheese, dill and chopped pickles. The filling was good, if the dough was a bit thinner or they made this with phyllo dough 🤤 it would be a 10/10 -CRAB CAKES - my mum had these and we both thought they were a bit salty but had a great texture and crispy outside which you don’t see everyday. THE SERVICE - Top notch! Lovely server who had helpful recommendations and made sure we were having a nice meal! 10/10...
Read moreMy wife and I were in Sarnia on June 28th to have lunch with my brother, cousin and her husband who were visiting from the Netherlands. We searched for places to eat in Sarnia and came across the the Tin Fiddler. I was intrigued by the name and noted that the menu was not overwhelming which I prefer. Upon arrival, I was impressed with eclectic decor of the main area of the restaurant along with the spaciousness of it. I learned that there was an outdoor space and we explored this option. Once outside, there was a relaxing atmosphere that included picnic tables, tables to seat two, four or larger parties and a very good music library. If you require limited exposure to sunlight, there are tables with large umbrellas to accommodate this. I ordered the steak sandwich and it was simply delicious, the ribeye was cooked perfectly, well seasoned and one of the best steak sandwiches that I have had. Our server Brett was very personable and accommodating and was more than happy to assist with any questions that we had in relation to the menu. The overall vibe of the Tin Fiddler made this a very memorable experience. If you find yourself in Sarnia and looking for an alternative to the mainstream eateries, take a drive to the Tin Fiddler, you will not be...
Read moreStopped in for an early dinner after paddle boarding in the bay (see Gordons’ review) and it definitely exceeded our expectations. Service, vibe, choices in food and drink and quality of food and drinks were absolutely top shelf. Great side and rear patio to enjoy the dwindling days of summer. The menu is diverse and imaginative (and great value for quality and portions). Our server was knowledgeable and professional with the right balance of making sure we were enjoying our meal without being too obtrusive (everyone we encountered seemed on their game). Our mains (power bowl and lamb tacos) were fresh and enjoyable as were our two beer choices. Despite living an hour away we would definitely make the trip back (and bring friends) as this was a great dining experience and well worth a recommendation. Cheers 🍻 to the Tin...
