We came in for a birthday; we have been looking forward to this celebration for awhile so we had lots of excitement. We sat down and noticed the water glasses had lipstick stains on them, as well as dish washer reside plastered all over the side. Ok, not a big deal we just didn’t use the glasses. At first things were great. Soup & salads came out quickly. Drinks were fast to be refilled. Then supper came and it was AMAZING! Every single person at our table enjoyed the food. I’m not sure why the service took a turn though. Our empty plates and cups were pilling up on the table and not being cleared. Once we were done eating I went to go give the candles for the cake we brought. As I’m on my way towards the waitress station, our server comes flying out of the kitchen with some sparkler thing on our cake and starts signing hbd! We were not ready for the cake, not everyone was at the table; she didn’t ask if we had candles or anything, she didn’t clear our table before bringing the cake. Like literally NOTHING. Just brought it when she found fit, and took over the whole situation. I was honestly angry. I asked her to just wait, we weren’t all sitting, we needed the table cleared and she STILL proceeded to sit the cake down and ruin the surprise. I had to take the cake out of her hands. Then I realized our cake was melted. She kept saying it was in the freezer but I really feel it was just placed in the fridge after me really emphasizing it was an ice cream cake; it neeeeds to be in a freezer. It was really disappointing. I tipped at the end solely because the food was so good. But I think from now on we’ll just order take out. I don’t think we’ll come...
Read moreThe world needs more booths! Coming to Granada House was a reminder of how it used to be… restaurants with spacious inviting booths that bring a feeling of intimacy to your outing paired with a straight forward well-done menu. I have a soft spot for Saskatoon’s legacy Greek restaurants, but even without a heart full of nostalgia Granada House is a solid dining choice if you want big portions of classic cuisine.
The food came out hot and fresh. Our pizza was thick and the cutlets were thin. The entire bill was $50. What more do you need? The lemon roast potatoes left something to be desired, not the city’s best but not the worst either. Next time I’d opt for spaghetti as my side.
The restaurant seems to draw an entirely different clientele than the attached separated lounge. The entire restaurant was impeccably clean and organized. There were zero handwritten notes stuck around the POS terminals and not a candy wrapper out of place at the front. The staff seem to care about the service they provide and I wonder if many have been with the establishment for decades or more. The place has that kinda vibe, and it’s noticeable as a patron. In some ways I’m reviewing Granada House on its feelings more than its food, but in some ways the experience outweighs the product. I’ve always maintained that no restaurant is bad if you enjoyed going and I hope others feel the same way when...
Read moreI went tonight and saw a giant cockroach on the wall and then it crawled onto a table :) There was also a hair of the server's in my food. Thank you for taking my plate Away to remove the hair and bring it back to me The server refilled a glass of iced tea and poured it all over one of the people in my party's jacket. She did not notice. She also reached across the table nearly touching my food with her sleeve. My favourite part was the coconut cream pie. I don't know if I would advertise that it was made In house because it was revolting. I couldn't even get my garberator of a kid to eat it. The hostess was apparently unable to entirely discount my dessert (?? The hair was of zero concern apparently lmao) and and personally I would have comped the entire bill, but I am not a person who runs a restaurant full of cockroaches trying to make a dime. I...
