So I heard about this place from someone on FB So I decided to check it out. The first time I was here it was for take-out when I arrived it was packed and as you may have already read or heard it was busy!! The staff seemed to be doing ok since they seemed a bit overwhelmed and dealing with a large crowd. I am guessing that they were not expecting the turn out they had however they seemed to be doing their best managing food orders, take out, dim sum rounds, clearing tables, people trying to pay while also following COVID protocols at the entrance. Even though they were crazy busy I still got my food within under 20 minutes. I decided to grab a take out menu with me to see their other options and possibly return. Today I was able to return and i ordered the same dishes that I had ordered for take out. I have to say that the environment was more calm and I was able to take in more of the details in the restaurant, the place is beautiful!! The staff were so tentative during our visit, they were checking up on us constantly and making sure that drinks were never empty, these are only a couple of details from the service that we received today. I have never received customer service like I did today. As we were leaving I asked how long they had been opened for and they said a week! I was complimenting them on the decor when the staff said “oh, and upstairs there are more tables and karaoke” my reaction was “say, what? Karaoke” omg!! They offered to give me a tour and I said “yes!” This place is amazing and unique!! In my personal opinion I think this might be Saskatoons new little gem. So if you have a group of 6 or more to bring I would suggest to give them a heads up so that they may accommodate you accordingly ! I cannot wait to rent out one of their karaoke rooms while I enjoy some amazing food!!! I took a few photos but you need to see this place in person in order to appreciate the small details and if you who decide to check them out I suggest you give them a couple of chances while they settle into their new business that way you will experience the food and service they...
Read moreWe were there for dim-sum today (Sunday) around 11:45-12:40, very busy and super crowded. There was not much seatings for small groups which seemed to be the majority of people waiting. The waiting area is very small at the entrance with two chairs.
The options on the dim-sum carts were very limited (maybe we were late?). We got some deep fried items and a couple of steam items. I asked a waitress for a menu to order directly from the kitchen. After filling out on the order menu, one of the waitresses said there is no need to fill out the menu for dim-sum and that she would just grab the items we wanted; this never happened. We didn’t get to order the items we wanted ( sticky nice, steam BBQ pork buns, steam rice roll etc.) at all. Not sure why, maybe it was just too busy in the kitchen or just bad service that needs to improve.
The non dim-sum item we ordered from the menu was the beef fried rice noodle, which never showed up after waiting 20 - 25 minutes. We had a waiter cross it off our bill and we left in disappointment.
Over all, the taste of the food is very similar to other dim sum places but more pricy, staff seemed to be undertrained and they didn’t seem to have a clue on how to help costumers.
We will not go back there in a...
Read moreDragon Emperor Dim Sum in Saskatoon is an absolute treat for anyone who loves authentic Cantonese cuisine. From the moment you step inside, the elegant yet welcoming atmosphere — with traditional Chinese décor and a spacious, comfortable layout — makes you feel ready for a special meal.
The menu is full of classic dim sum favorites, and every dish I tried was cooked to perfection. The steamed shrimp dumplings are delicate, juicy, and bursting with flavor, while the pork buns are fluffy, savory, and utterly satisfying. I also loved the fried tofu skewers, crispy on the outside and soft inside, and the sesame balls make the perfect sweet finish. Each dish showcases fresh ingredients and authentic flavors, leaving you wanting more.
The staff are attentive, friendly, and make the dining experience seamless and enjoyable. Portions are generous, presentation is thoughtful, and the overall experience combines fantastic food with a warm, inviting setting.
