Absolutely incredible experience! My party of 9 (7 adults, 2 children) were seated with plenty of space in the back room. Ellen (the white Jamaican lol) was our server and she was fantastic! She made dish suggestions, checked on us regularly, taught the kids some Jamaican phrases while dancing with them beside the table & was full of energy. The food was incredible! I cannot handle spice AT ALL & ordered the curry goat. It was perfect! Not spicy at all yet full of flavour and spices. They can make it spicy for those who wish! We all enjoyed a slice of key lime pie after dinner which also was amazing. Eddy (the owner) came around frequently with a big smile on his face & let us know that if everyone finished their vegetables- we would be treated with a homemade cherry (rum?) shot. We all finished our vegetables! And that shot was SOOOOO SMOOTH!!! It was made with organic cherries so only half as bad 😂 The kids got a complimentary popsicle after dinner. There were two young teenagers working there aswell (Ellen’s kids?) and they would make sure our waters were full at all times. Final thoughts… The food was the most delicious and authentic Jamaican food that you will experience in Saskatoon. The employees make you feel at home and part of the family. And the decor is so neat! Everyone had the most amazing time and we all LOVED not only the meal but the whole experience in itself. Will 100% be back & highly recommend The Konga Cafe to anyone of any age, race, ethnicity, gender etc. Everyone will feel welcome here.

Visited here from out of town. I had heard a lot of good things about the place and my expectations were met. The restaurant is in a relatively discrete strip mall hidden in a quaint neighborhood on the west side of Sask. The interior is nice and cozy. Lots of drawings from patrons and the customers adorn the walls. I had the sweet fire chicken plate. Came with some fried bread to start. The waitress was very knowledgeable and gave good recommendations on food and heat levels. I stuck to the default for the sweet fire which is a bonnet based sauce. The sautéed vegetables were cooked nicely. Given an option of rice or potatoes or both I went with both. Those sides didn’t disappoint and all tasted fresh. Chicken is white breast meat, which I’m not a fan of but it’s fine. They were able to accommodate our party of 5. Id recommend anyone wanting a home cooked meal to visit Konga Cafe

This quaint little café serves up some of the best Jamaican food you can find in Saskatoon, today I had the jerk pork chop with oven roasted potatoes and pan fried carrots, zucchini, in a crushed tomato sauce.. They serve you Jonny cake before they bring out your meal, which I really enjoyed with a couple of the hot sauces that were on the table and I washed down all this goodness with a pineapple island soda.. Your host Eddy is a true gem, and his wife brings out the true flavour’s of the Konga with everything that she prepares for you and their son Martin is the perfect gentleman that serves you your food and checks on you to make sure that you are enjoying your meal.. I give this place a 10 out of 10 for service amazing food and a wonderful café atmosphere.

One of my very favourite spots in the city! We were there celebrating with some friends and our time there was so enjoyable. Eddie (one of the owners) was very attentive, bringing us a special sauce to supplement the meal (very flavorful and VERY hot). He also did a shot with us later! He is a gem of a person and you can just tell how much he cares about his customers!

A true hidden gem, this family-run restaurant excels in serving delicious, mouth-watering, and fresh Caribbean food. From the moment you walk in, the friendly staff and owners will make you feel right at home in a casual and relaxed environment. From start to finish, this is a dining experience you will not forget.

Starting with the overall decor and menu, you immediately see that this place is focused on light-hearted simplicity with a homey feel. The menu itself has some hilarious descriptions that are sure to make you smile. With the beverages, they really take it up a notch bring you a frosted mug for your beer - a nice touch! The Johnny Cakes (aka fry-bread) will delight your palette and whet your appetite as you prepare for your food's arrival - but that's just the beginning. The entrées - authentic and packed with flavor - are exceptional. I had the Sweetfire chicken when I was just there and it was just the right balance of flavor and incredibly juicy. In the past, I've had the jerk chicken, mahi mahi, and pork chops - all exceptional. The key lime pie was then the perfect way to end the meal.

This place is a must try for anybody who likes fresh, authentic, homestyle, Caribbean food. If you haven't been here before, do yourself a favour and...

This place is a hidden gem 💎

1⃣ Location ⭐⭐ Location is okay. Parking lot is quite tight making it difficult for parking. Area is a little sketchy but haven't had issues.

2⃣ Facility ⭐⭐⭐ Facility is small yet homely. Easy to get crowded on busy nights; however, there is a good reason for the business. This place is a hidden gem. Washrooms are always in order and stocked. Hard to navigate through the dining area because I am a rather enormous human. There is another area inside a room which is nice to book if you want to have a group separated from the other dining area. Place is kid friendly and they will even post the drawings on their walls which is nice.

3⃣ Staff ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Staff have always been great. I like it when a place of certain cuisine and culture has some staff who represent the culture, but that's my preference. The owners are amazing people and very welcoming. All the servers are great and always have been on top of their duties. I never feel forgotten or waiting for an order. Food comes in a timely manner and they always check to make sure I need refills throughout the course of my stay.

4⃣ Food ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Although some of the dishes aren't my preference, they do have dishes that are the reason I come here. It's worth it and it's delicious. The drinks are limited selection but that's to be expected. I like the drinks they serve though. When I have a craving this place seems to satisfy it perfectly.

5⃣ Atmosphere ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The place is welcoming, the community overall is mostly families and couples. Thus far I've always felt welcome here, enjoyed the food and service...
