As someone who spent memorable years at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, and enjoyed the Northern Superior Lager, the Northern Superior Brewing and Tap Room instantly feels like a homecoming.

Whether we were recounting tales of past adventures or dreaming up new ones, the patio offered a comfortable and welcoming space that feels like an extension of those cherished memories.

The small bites menu is a great complement if you’re feeling peckish, offering just the right amount of sustenance without overshadowing the main event - the beer.

Really beautiful patio but I had quite a few issues. I asked for a spot outside and was willing to wait. They told me there wasn't any. Ok no problem I sat inside. Minutes later another group was brought to an outdoor table. A few minutes later another group. I brushed it off. Whatever.

It took a while to get my pop which got me annoyed but again I brushed it off. 20 minutes later my guest arrived. Another 20 minutes after they asked if he wanted a drink. 20 minutes again and his coffee came. They still hadn't asked for our order and at this point I was hangry! Waving down the server I ordered probably the easiest thing to make; a charcuterie board. It took another 20 minutes and it was eaten with my fingers since they didn't bring cutlery.

Anyway, our stay was about 1 1/2 hours give or take. In that time we managed to get a coffee, pop, and charcuterie board. I was pretty shocked by the horrible service and finally gave up. I practically had to lunge at my waitresses to get my bill. The spot is beautiful, the bar is well renovated but I was not impressed with the service. They lost a potential repeat customer with me because I go to yoga in the same building every Thursday but I definitely won't be returning to...

I wanted to take my wife and kids over into Canada for their first time since we were up in Michigan for the week. The Candian side of Sault Ste. Marie definitely has lots to be desired to put it nicely, but we happened to drive by Northern Superior Brewing Company while cruising around town and it looked like a great place to stop and drink some Canadian beers. The staff was very friendly and accommodating considering we were the only people with very young children. Our server whose name I cannot remember was extremely nice and helpful. She was able to work with me and quell any worries that I had about how payments would work since we didn't have any Canadian currency on us.
