I loved the food but didn't like my first experience. I have been to many restaurants in Sault cuz I am a foodie and like to try new and different things. The waiter that was serving me at first was nice but when I placed my order I told her to leave the menu with me as I might order more, she did. When you first go into a restaurant, sometimes it is hard to understand the amount they might give or how the food might taste, so I usually try 2 or 3 different things at first as I know I can always pack it up for home if I cant finish. When I told another waiter I want to order more she politely said she will let my waiter know and when she did I clearly heard my waiter saying out loud, oh she wants to order more in a very high loud voice? I only had 1 pasta and 1 garlic bread order before. She came and I placed another order of a different kind of pasta and she was looking at me very surprised. I think she froze for a sec and I still said with a smile I can take it home if I don't finish, I am not giving any competition and she started laughing at me. She did verify I am not switching my order, I said no I want both the pasta. I thought maybe she is an elder person and maybe prefer small portion so thats why she was laughing at me. But I neglected it and said I can always take it home if i cant finish. As per my request she was nice enough to double check with the chef that there is no pork in either of them but then at the end even though I understand its the closing time, another couple just came in. But she was rushing me specifically by asking me how many box I want. I said I will let her know soon then she counted saw the food on my table and she went like oh you will need 3 boxes. I said yes but I will let you know, when I am done. I checked the timing just to make sure and I saw there is still 20 mins left for closing and another couple just started there food. Probably 3 or 5 mins later she came back with 3 boxes and pointed me out which side is the bottom side of the box. 😒 And I said politely yes, I know. I mean tbh I didn't wanted to sit around any longer. I don't see her rushing the couple that came way after me....
Read moreWe stayed at the motel next door on Saturday night and were told the restaurant next door was a good one. I checked the buffet upon entering and it looked good. My wife had her heart set on a pizza as we had been in a far north fishing camp for 2 weeks. While the pizza took forever to arrive, it was OK. My wife was happy but frankly I would have expected better from an Italian eatery. I enjoyed several types of chicken dishes from the buffet. The "tatters" were to kill for. The waitress was very helpful and "on the ball". The price was in line as we had several drinks. We asked the waitress what time the restaurant opened for breakfast and were told 7AM. Next morning, I checked the buffet again upon entering. The mass of bacon in the pan appeared to be uncooked, the eggs looked fine, the home fries looked almost raw. I decided to order from the menu. I stipulated "well done" for both the home fries and the bacon and the waitress answered, "OK, crispy!" as she wrote our order down. I ordered "large" orange juice. When it arrived, it was in a fancy water glass - about half the size of a kitchen tumbler. When the food arrived, my wife and I both had a small pile of bacon on the plate. Upon inspection, the bottom of my pile was raw, barely shown to any heat. The home fries had been allowed to sit on the hot plate long enough that they were starting to brown around the edges - on one side. The other side was uncooked. I have an alergy to unions and I told the waitress. When the food arrived I immediately spotted a large piece of onion on my plate. It didn't take long to find my home fries were mixed with a generous proportion of raw onion pieces. The waitress gave no warning the home fries could be ordered with or without onions. I would not recommend this retaurant for morning breakfast although as previously mentioned it's adequate for supper. I would not rate it as...
Read moreHere’s my experience from the moment I stepped in :- Step in, and I was greeted by the older caucasian lady who asks me if I’m picking up an order ? A bit presumptuous that all Indians are delivery drivers, but it’s alright.
I was there for the buffet but that’s only on Thursday-Sunday, so I asked if I could see the menu beforehand. I do this because it saves the restaurant extra effort to clean my table for the next person, if I’m just going to see the menu and not order anything. Usually all health departments say that restaurants should be cleaning tables for the next person even if someone has not ordered anything. I thought I was being nice by asking for the menu beforehand. . apparently not 🤔. Also, it wasn’t busy so I wasn’t holding up anyone.
So, I see the menu and decide and I want to dine in. The same lady asks me if I want to dine in, or leave. I say and I want to dine in, and she walks away with the menu. I was still not seated even though there’s a sign there saying, please wait to be seated.
I HAD to ASK the other asian server for a seat and get seated. She was nice and helpful, and suggested some of the crowd favourites over there. I had to try the baked lasagna, so I did and it did not disappoint. They have a special sauce prepared in-house and that enhanced the lasagna’s taste.
Finished my food and asked the asian server about the buffet. Left the place with a smile on my face, and left a 25% tip.
Overall, a cozy family run place. Don’t let this review deter you from trying the place, just hope you don’t run into the first server 😅.
To the older lady server, I just want to say that. . Customer service is not a one size fits all, and what u think works for you doesn’t work for everyone. So please learn to be polite and...
