The only thing that should have been mildly annoying for us was that we had to wait for an 8top to clear as we were a party of 5 adults and 2 kids. I understand having to wait for a larger table to clear, especially on a Sunday morning at a breakfast place, but when they seat a party of 4 at one of the only large tables, when a 4top was just about to open as well. Not to mention the table of 6-9 elderly people that spent $45 collectively (they left their reciept on the table) and didn't tip. They were just sat there for about half an hour with absolutely nothing but their coffees in front of them, chatting. I'm trained in this industry, went to post secondary for it, and there comes a point when you have to kindly urge patrons on when your restaurant has 15 people in your small lobby. Our wait time was quoted by the "waitlist" for 11+ minutes and boy did they really rely on that plus sign. We waited for about half an hour. When we were finally seated, it was at the awkwardest, most uncomfortable table near the serving station, and we were missing a seat. Upon asking for an extra chair, our server huffed before apparently going to hell and backto go a couple step to find my partner something to sit on. This was not the only "inconvenience" we threw upon this poor poor woman doing her JOB. She was incredibly pushy with our order, and then came back to our table a total of 3 times afterwards, despite problems at the table. She slammed our drinks down, demanded our order again, then informed us that 2 of the skillets that we ordered might take a bit longer. Everything came out all at once, which raises alarm bells when warned of a dish taking longer than others. My friends, their kids, and my two travel partners all had amazing food. I ordered the Adonis, a delicious sounding eggs benny, and the home fries. Potatoes were good, but my bennys were ICE and the English muffin was untoasted and soggy. I tried flagging our server a few times before she finally deemed us worthy to check in, once the kids were done their pancakes,15 minutes later. I mentioned that my food was cold, and she gave me the most scathing look, as if she was saying "that's because you haven't touched them and they cooled down". Meanwhile, I was so excited for these damn eggs that they were the first thing I dove into. Ice from the first bite. So I simply ask that they be taken off the bill, or partially off the bill, because I am not going to eat more than the one bite I tried and also my potatoes. She comes back, 10 minutes later, and shoves a takeout box in my girlfriends face without looking at me, and ran off. So my girlfriend packages up her food that she had actually enjoyed and couldn't finish, and the server sees this and asks if we need another box for MY food. I say "no, I don't want them at all. Please take them off the bill, they're inedible". She grabs my plate and doesn't even go 5 steps before we hear the BIGGEST huff of annoyance. We get the bill, and surprise surprise, the Adonis is on it. We were so fed up and my friends didn't want to cause a scene, so we just paid. We left a $20 on the table as well, because my friends are also in this industry and understand even bad servers live off of their tips. No "have a good day" or smiles or courtesy at all from this woman. Just brought the machine, stood there silently, and left as soon as she could. The whole "vibe" of the staff here was they were there for a cheque and nothing else, and that's not a healthy thing to have in your restaurant. This was my first time here, as well as my travel partners, and we are never coming back and warning people against at least going on a Sunday. Maybe the service would have been better on another day, but the lack of willingness to work with us in a polite manner, even on a busy day, was disgusting. So disappointed as I love the message behind this restaurant, just a shame they employ people without an iota of passion or at...
Read moreThe restaurant is at the corner of the street/intersection. The parking lot is in the back (up to around 10 cars). The restaurant has a pig theme on the inside, lots of pig themed decorations. The restaurant is also on the small size. It was also very full and very busy during breakfast hours.
We ordered the Benny Poutine ($17), the Caramel Apple Pie Crepe ($15), the Triple S Crepe ($18), the Notorious PIG ($20), two coffees ($3 each), and water.
The Benny Poutine was really tasty. It came with 2 poached eggs, hollandaise sauce slathered on top of the home fries with cheese. At times there were pockets of salt which was quite the surprise to choke on. The bowl was bigger than expected and also somewhat deep.
The Caramel Apple Pie Crepe was better than expected. Not too sweet and light. Very delicious as well. Was pretty good and was very large and long.
The Triple S Crepe was a sweet, salty and spicy crepe. It looked rather small, but it was filled to the brim with filling on the inside. The meat was pretty salty.
The Notorious PIG was under the Eggs Benedict menu. It came with 2 poached eggs on top of 2 Korean pulled pork sandwiches, with home fries on the side. The pulled pork was soft and delicious. The eggs were a bit too runny/raw for my mom.
As a family, we shared our plates of food. My mom found that a lot of the food we got was too salty and greasy for her. We all agreed that the Caramel Apple Pie Crepe was very good, just that my mom didn't like the 3 dallops of whipped cream on top of the sweet crepe.
The water is cold tap water. The coffee was watered down coffee. The table has salt and pepper, as well as a ketchup bottle. There were also 10% cream and 2% skim milk tiny containers as well as sugar that was very lightly sweet.
The online menu is out of date, a few dollars cheaper than the current menu in-person. The washroom was small and tight. Was kind of hard to squeeze on by the washroom stall door. Also the washroom smelled bad.
Overall, the food was good, albeit a little bit too much salt and grease. The coffee was bad, very watered down and the sugar wasn't really sweet. The service was good, I guess. The servers came to check up on us and refill our watered down coffee with more watered down coffee.
Pros: Food was tasty. Cons: Food was a bit too salty and greasy. Coffee was too watered down. Sugar wasn't sweet. Parking lot...
Read moreI've waited 4 years to eat here again. Food and food quality are an A+. Unfortunately due to the current restrictions I was only able to pick up for my family. As I stood in line there was one family in front of me. They were seated and then another group of 4 got in line behind me. The hostess then proceeded to seat the group of 4 behind me without even asking me why I was there. After she seated them she proceeded to go back inside for a couple minutes. She eventually came back out and wiped a table by the door where they seem to keep their menus. She finally came over and asked how she could help. I then told her I was there to pickup an order. She went inside and a fellow then brought me a bag of food. I ordered lots so to me one bag looked suspicious. I went to my vehicle and decided to double check my order. Yup, lots was missing. Went back to where the lineup was, luckily no line up. Was looked at a couple times until another group of 4 lined up behind me. She then proceeded to ask them how many in their party. The fellow answered by saying the guy in front of us is missing some of his order, you might want to help him. She told him she would get to me. When she got to me I explained what I was missing. She went in and grabbed about half of what i was missing. I explained to her that I still needed two more oders of breakfast potatoes as they were not in with the French toast. She went back in and grabbed them. I proceeded to triple check my order but was greeted with a," You don't need to do that!" Well I guess I should have. Still 3 orders of eggs short when I got back to the motel. I loved the food, but the service was awful. Not even an apology. I hate to see such a great place go downhill. Even if someone is having a bad day it reflects very poorly on...
