The restaurant is at the corner of the street/intersection. The parking lot is in the back (up to around 10 cars). The restaurant has a pig theme on the inside, lots of pig themed decorations. The restaurant is also on the small size. It was also very full and very busy during breakfast hours. We ordered the Benny Poutine ($17), the Caramel Apple Pie Crepe ($15), the Triple S Crepe ($18), the Notorious PIG ($20), two coffees ($3 each), and water. The Benny Poutine was really tasty. It came with 2 poached eggs, hollandaise sauce slathered on top of the home fries with cheese. At times there were pockets of salt which was quite the surprise to choke on. The bowl was bigger than expected and also somewhat deep. The Caramel Apple Pie Crepe was better than expected. Not too sweet and light. Very delicious as well. Was pretty good and was very large and long. The Triple S Crepe was a sweet, salty and spicy crepe. It looked rather small, but it was filled to the brim with filling on the inside. The meat was pretty salty. The Notorious PIG was under the Eggs Benedict menu. It came with 2 poached eggs on top of 2 Korean pulled pork sandwiches, with home fries on the side. The pulled pork was soft and delicious. The eggs were a bit too runny/raw for my mom. As a family, we shared our plates of food. My mom found that a lot of the food we got was too salty and greasy for her. We all agreed that the Caramel Apple Pie Crepe was very good, just that my mom didn't like the 3 dallops of whipped cream on top of the sweet crepe. The water is cold tap water. The coffee was watered down coffee. The table has salt and pepper, as well as a ketchup bottle. There were also 10% cream and 2% skim milk tiny containers as well as sugar that was very lightly sweet. The online menu is out of date, a few dollars cheaper than the current menu in-person. The washroom was small and tight. Was kind of hard to squeeze on by the washroom stall door. Also the washroom smelled bad. Overall, the food was good, albeit a little bit too much salt and grease. The coffee was bad, very watered down and the sugar wasn't really sweet. The service was good, I guess. The servers came to check up on us and refill our watered down coffee with more watered down coffee. Pros: Food was tasty. Cons: Food was a bit too salty and greasy. Coffee was too watered down. Sugar wasn't sweet. Parking lot is very small.

First impressions tell me this is going to be an excellent experience, the staff are delightful and know the menu. When asking for my Eggs Benny, they were quick to set expectations, and Tomy benefit the Classic Benny's meat is peameal bacon today. My personal preference. They have an excellent menu with something for everyone. Their coffee is excellent and, the have quality grapefruit juice! Thank you! There is a growing collection of customers who mostly seem to be regulars. This is very nice to see. @thebreakfastpig does breakfast right. From the Eggs Benny to the coffee to the server's effort, this wonderful establishment in Sault Sainte Marie, Ontario, Canada is likely the best morning ritual one could add to one's life. Comfortable seating and a great ambiance delivers a satisfying day starter to the common man. If you can get here, whether passing through or living here, you need to add yourself to the list of regulars. This made my day! Thank you.

I am posting this just for the servers to learn. We came in from out of town staying in a hotel. So we require breakfast. This place was highly recommended so we went. I asked the server what she recommends and her comment was everything. She wouldn’t make suggestions or help guide. I asked out some dishes and asked if spicy and she said yes those are spicy so I picked the Mac and cheese with pork. It came 30 + mins later I took a bite and OMG! So spicy. My husband tasted it and he agreed that was very spicy. The server said that is the bbq sauce. Like I should have known that. I was annoyed for I asked about spice. The server was not pleasant for I told her to take it back I cannot eat it. I reordered a breakfast poutine /fries with eggs. I said no hollandaise sauce instead do the cheese sauce. Waited another 30 mins. Everyone else was finished eating their meals now. When my dish came it had both hollandaise and cheese poured all over. I said right away NOPE TAKE IT THIS IS WRONG. I said I’m done I want the bill and left. I know mistakes happen but no apology from the server I left no breakfast no food We got our bill the 2 dishes that were wrong were deducted. My daughter and I ordered each a mamosa the pink grapefruit was amazing.

The food simply was NOT good. Portions were big, but that’s where it ends. My wife had the “Basic” (eggs, bacon, home fries, and toast). Several strips of bacon were burnt black (no exaggeration), home fries were severely over cooked in old oil (some were partially black), and eggs were barely warm when served. I ordered the “Angela” - what a mistake. It’s described sort of as a skillet on a “grilled potato hash”. In reality, what you get is a plate full of flavorless potatoes. Literally. Topped with some “mush” made from onions, mushrooms, and spinach (I never saw, or could not distinguish, a single Asparagus spear). A couple of poached eggs on top, then the “cook” douses the entire plate with balsamic glaze. No flavor, nothing sautéed properly, the so-called grilled potatoes were under-cooked (some were partially raw), and the eggs were cold when served. I mean, this was garbage. The only saving grace was that our server (short, young lady with dark hair) handled our complaint EXTREMELY professionally, partially comped my meal, and apologized several times. Wow - you don’t see that kind of service very often in Canada.

Edited review: I edited this review from 2 stars to 4. I appreciate this restaurant is working to assist displaced people, but someone else should have still acknoledged me waiting, consider I was standing in the entrance with no interaction for over 15 min. We showed up and my wife is disabled and waited in the car. It was busy which was fine I am happy to wait, spoke to the host and he asked how many people and I said I just wanted to make a take out order.... He said ok, seated multiple parties, proceeded to ignore me the rest of the 15-20 minutes. He cleaned tables came back a couple more times and greated other people and completely ignored me. Food might be good, but clearly there is no customer service here... Again I was happy to wait, but was not even allowed to order take out.

We were traveling across the country from BC and stopped in Sault Ste. Marie for what was supposed to only be one night. We loved it there so much we ended up staying for nearly a week! We discovered The Breakfast Pig on morning one and we literally ate there every morning after. The food is amazing, the prices are very FAIR (such a rare find in Canada, the land of overcharge) and the staff was so sweet! You will not find a better breakfast place in town, so don’t bother trying. Top quality all around, and they use fresh local ingredients and vendors. Try the Monte Cristo Crepe! It’s was P-H-E-N-O-M-I-N-A-L! 10/10 would recommend. Our travels have since led us all the way to Texas and we still have yet to find a breakfast place that can top it. Yum-o!
