Jinju Sushi — Restaurant in Scugog

Been meaning to come here for a while. Menu looks great, too bad we didn’t get to try anything.

Walked in and asked to be seated. The lady pointed us to a booth that already had menus placed on the table. There were only 2 other tables seated there besides us.

Looked over the menu, figured out what we wanted. My wife went to use the lady’s room. Came back and asked if I had ordered. “No honey, no one’s come by yet”

Waited another 5 mins, started looking around…3 people working behind the bar, no one paying attention to the patrons inside.

Waited another 5 mins and had to leave. No one looked in our direction or asked if anything is wrong.

I can understand if the place is slammed, but when you only have 3 tables total and you don’t even ask people for a drink order once they’ve been sitting and waiting for a while? Sorry you lost my business, went to Bamboo down the road and had a great lunch!

edit Thanks for the reply, weak answer. I worked at restaurants for over a dozen years. I could comfortably handle 4-6 tables solo, as 1 server. You had 3 tables total, one that had already been served. So only 2 tables to serve. Customers sitting in a pretty much empty dining room for 20 minutes and no one even came up to ask what the customer wants to drink? Not even water? Take out orders taking priority over physical customers IN the dining room? You need to understand hospitality priorities and being a family run business, maybe hire a front of the house trainer for a couple of weeks so you can learn how to properly run it and...

I placed an order tonight online for pickup, I have ordered plenty of times from Jinju Sushi but just discovered their online system! Super easy to use and efficient! I ordered the Wonton Soup, Edamame, California Rolls as well as Dynamite Rolls! All ready in under 15 minutes! The system said 15 I arrived around 5 minutes early and waited a minute or so for them to finish my order. As soon as you walk in you’re greeted with lots of hellos and smiling faces as well as a renovated seating area! It looks amazing! I haven’t been in a while so not sure how new that is! The food is outstanding as always, the Wonton soup isn’t just plain broth and wontons it’s loaded with broccoli, cabbage, carrots and green onions with a ton of wontons plus the broth tastes amazing unlike other places where it’s very watery. The rolls are a fantastic size not overly massive but still hearty! All the ingredients are super fresh and ripe avocados! Edamame speaks for itself although it was perfectly cooked and a little salty! Overall would 10/10 recommend a visit to Jinju Sushi! I wish I took pictures but was starving and devoured it 😂 Thank you for the amazing food...

The food was delicious and fresh!! And the lunch special was so delicious and impecably made!! The chef takes care in the presentation of his food and decorated the plate with flowers. This tells me he was professionally trained.

The service was friendly, fast and pleasant and the owners are so nice to talk to!! They're very polite and accommodating.

The restaurant has a lot of parking and is in front of the lakeside. Overall experience was 10/10. The lunch special includes: 1 roll, 1 hand roll, 3 pieces of sashimi + 3 pieces of sushi + a salad + tempura + soup all for $14.95. It's a really good price and they're generous with their portions!! I would say this is probably the best sushi restaurant I've ever tried and I would definitely recommend it to anyone near the port perry area.
