Boulangerie Leger Bakery — Restaurant in Shediac

Average bakery with an assortment of baked goods such as a few different kinds of breads, multiple (very good) baked squares, pies, cinnamon buns, and the best cheese bagels I've ever had in my life. They also have very good sugar donuts but I believe they only make these on weekends? And they sell pretty fast, so get in early. They also have some other locally made products like maple syrup, jams/spreads and have 3 freezers full of various kinds of frozen meats and pre-made items (such as meat pies) from a local butcher.

Removing 2 stars because, while I really like the flavour of the bread, the top is always very crusty/crunchy and a bit difficult to eat. Maybe their bread is too close to the heating elements in the oven or something, but I've been to many bakeries before and never had this problem. After a few days the crust will soften up in the fridge, so it's almost better to actually buy day-old bread as opposed to fresh.

As such I'm returning to grocery store bread and will not be purchasing bread here regularly any more, it's far too "stale" right out...

Staff could have been more friendly/less rude, and did not seem to take COVID concerns seriously. Another customer handled my bread while it was on the counter so I picked out another, and the cashier grabbed the potentially contaminated one and did not sanitize her hands before continuing to serve me and pass me other products. Makes me concerned about food safety as well, if there is no thought to vectors of transmission. Cinnamon buns were stale. Perhaps it was an off day for them, but personally I will not be returning. I would have called to address these concerns to management before posting a review, but there is no contact...

I feel awful leaving a poor review but I’ve now visited this place twice and both times the baked goods I bought were basically inedible. The first time was last summer and I got some Cinnabon buns (or something of the sort). They were hard and dry. A couple days ago I bought tea biscuits and once again they were dry as can be and hard. I ate two total and the pack had to be thrown out the next day. No idea how they have good reviews on here....
