Probably one of the worse experiences we've had at a McDonald's. We were travelling a lot that day and skipped supper until we got back in the area later in the night. McDonald's was the only thing still opened. We got to the drive through lane with only one car sitting at the order speaker - we figured it would be quick.
It took them 10 minutes to eventually realise the poor guy was still waiting to be served - then they took his order and we drove up. We both ordered a Quarter Pounder BLT - nothing complicated. We drove up towards the takeout window and then notice there was a third car still waiting for his food - after already being there 15 minutes, he had to have been there before both us and the guy in front. Thankfully the first car was eventually served in a couple minutes and then the person in front drove up to the window. Queue another 10-15 minutes (At this point we were timing on the clock, no exaggerations) and the guy in front was eventually given his food. We pull up to the window just in time to see the guy stop the vehicle and try to go inside - which was closed at that point so he walked to the drive through window. He had to argue for several minutes saying he did not get what he ordered. During that time, they gave us our order and we slowly pulled away into a parking spot. When we checked - they only had half our order right, they did charge for the 2 Quarter Pounder BLT but instead of 2, they have 1 and 1 kids meal plain cheese burger. My spouse had to go out and walk to the drive through window where the guy was still there, waiting for them to correct his order.
They eventually corrected the guys order and got to my spouse. To be fair - the manager/supervisor was very apologetic and tried to explain to the kitchen staff about the error. We actually heard them very rudely yell back "They got exactly what was ordered!!" with some rude vulgar I omitted. They argued back and forth until they had to get him to come over and actually look at the burger and the receipt and then huffed and puffed back in the kitchen. By this time I was already done eating my meal and was waiting for my spouse which after several minutes eventually got her burger.
When she got in the car, she opened the burger which looked like it got thrown in a machine. It was a complete mess which seemed like the employee did it out of frustration. A handful of lettuce was throw all over it and was missing ingredients like Bacon - What's the point in paying for a BLT if you don't get bacon? That burger should have NEVER been served to any customers. The fries also seemed like they were left out for a very long time or re-heated from hours ago. Very soggy and cold. Makes sense if they bagged it half an hour before we got it.
We decided to suck it up at this point. There were several cars frustrated and waiting for their order already since we were in queue - they easily waited a good 30 minutes before getting to the window to even pay.
I sincerely believe the issue was completely on the kitchen staff and that person should NOT be working there - or anywhere with customers around. It was very frustrating experience and we will likely not go back to...
Read moreWent today with our 2 grandchildren. Opted to eat inside. The lineup for the one cashier was 6 people when I entered. The wait was much longer than I expected. When I got to the front of the line it was apparent the cashier was new...in training and needed to be assisted with most aspects of each order. I made my order and waited. My order came with 2 errors only discovered at our table. I chose not to complain. After eating our meal, I ordered cones and a cookie. Again a long lineup at the one cashier. When I finally got to the front of the line, they informed me they were temporarily not taking orders because of a backup in the kitchen. I noted they continued to take drive through orders while I and the others in line waited. Finally I placed my order. My granddaughter subsequently wanted a cookie like her brother had. I entered the lineup for the one cashier for the third time. Again I was informed orders would not be taken until an incorrect order for another customer could be resolved. Once that was corrected I stepped up to order one cookie when another staff person going on break ttook over the till to put in an order for herself while I still waited. She then left to find a supervisor to clear/confirm her order...again while I waited. I finally placed my order for one cookie, paid and while waiting for it noticed another staff selecting a cookie and calling my order number. She had selected the wrong cookie because the cashier had ordered it wrong . All in all, the food was as expected but the service was erratic, slow and uncoordinated. Very much...
Read moreWell!! I swore after last summer's fiasco I would never enter this "restaurant" again!! Well, nothing else to eat in Shediac after 9... so no choice! Ordered 2 Quarter pounder meals 1 no pickles and onions and 1 slice of cheese, the other no pickles extra onions. Got to table, 1st one no veg but exta cheese... ok deal with it... 2nd one, no pickles and no onions. Go to counter to return it, wait 10 mins with 3 other customers with their order wrong as well. One guy even said he was there at lunch the same day and had his order wrong then too. Finally the poor little cashier girl kept yelling to the kitchen to hurry up, I received my burger. Get back to table, my husband was long finished his "wrong" meal, I sat down to my cold fries and warm pop to find extra onions 👍 and EXTRA pickles 👎. Didn't bother this time to go back up, dealt with this as well. Poor service and food. BTW while we were waiting at the beginning, the couple before us had their order given to someone...
