We enjoyed a lovely relaxed brunch at Branches located inside the Greenland Garden Centre in Sherwood Park. Its a hidden gem and its wonderful to stroll around enjoying the lush greenery and bring a bit of it home when we still have snow on the ground. Service is friendltly and warm, and the kitchen is fairly fast even when they were hit with the lunch rush. We enjoyed: - Kid's (looked adult sized lol) cheese pizza - Chicken Florentine pizza with a rich garlic cream sauce, chicken, mushrooms, spinach, cheese and topped with carmelized onions -Breakfast bowl hit it out of the park with soft potato hash, generous chunks kf chorizo, ham, tender onions, peppers, spinach, shallots and mushrooms. The arugula salad provided balance to the heavier components, and the two perfectly cooked sunny side up eggs were nestled in a good amount of hollandaise that tied everything together. Hubby still had a squidge of space left for an apple bread pudding he had an eye on - it was sadly dry, tho the caramel drizzle and whipped cream helped salvage it. Take a walk amongst the lush flowers and plants in the greenhouse - from tropicals to less exotic florals and greenery, its a mini recharge just to wander its sun dappled aisles. I ended up bringing home a small carnivorus butterwprt plant - maybe it'll help eat some pesky fungus gnats, assuming I can keep it alive 😅 #sherwoodpark #sherwoodparkrestaurants #sherwoodparkgreenhouse #sherwoodparkcafe #sherwoodparkgem #sherwoodparkpizza #sherwoodparkfood #sherwoodparkbrunch #sherwoodparklocal #sherwoodparkalberta #cafe #pizza #brunch #strathconacounty

I visited Branches last summer on a whim and tried the Jerk Chicken tacos. They were incredible, but only available on the summer feature menu. I waited an entire year to go back and finally returned this past week. The tacos were just as delicious as I remembered. I ordered them with a side of chips with bacon dip, also delicious. The Bang Bang Shrimp, another summer feature, did not disappoint. To top it all off, we shared what I’m convinced might be the best carrot cake in Sherwood Park. Lastly I tried their Italian soda for the first time, and it was the perfect refreshment for a hot day on the patio, not too sweet, with lots of flavour options to choose from. From the food to the drinks, the relaxed patio atmosphere, and the attentive service, everything about our visit was spot on. A full 10/10 experience. Highly recommend!

Thursday afternoon outing. Very organized and well trained group of workers. A shout out to “Hay Bails.” Had the layered cheese bread. Delicious. 14.70$. Will go back and try a few others…only downfall was the carrot cake dessert the person i was with had. It had pineapple in it. (Big pieces and it was more hard than moist. )

I was seated within 20min of opening, relatively quickly given the fact that it was busy. My guest and I ordered at 925 am. A full hour later, I asked for my single appetizer to be checked on (cheese bread). 10 min after that, it was served. Another 25 min passed and I watched a couple with two children get served child entrees. 10 min later, the parents got their entrees. This would have been ok if they had not been seated at least 30-40 min after I made my order! About 10 min later, my two entrees finally were served. It was a 145 min to get my food. I was at the venue well over two hours with eating time. We only had three food items and we waited longer than anyone in the restaurant to be served. Rather than giving us our drinks for free or acknowledging wrongdoing, my table was avoided until I finally walked to the front to pay. My frittata was bland, there was no seasonings on the table. I was embarrassed to have brought someone with me and bit my tongue the whole time. It was my first time attending this venue. I did not complain at any point...just asked for my order to be checked one time. That's likely when it was realized that my order must have been lost or given to someone else. Shame on you for thinking it was "ok" to treat me and my guest like that and ignore the ball that...

My first experience at Branches was fantastic, so I made a plan to take my mom there for her birthday, as I was sure she would love it. I'm not sure if it was just an off day, but the service we received was awful. They weren't super busy, but our server was frequently nowhere to be found. Our meal sat under the lamps, ready to come out for a very long time as 9 other meals that came up after ours were delivered to their tables. When we finished up our meal, we sat with empty glasses and waited ages for our server to return, and when she didn't, I flagged someone else down to ask what desserts they had and request our drinks be refilled. Our server stood chatting with another server for a good 10 minutes while our dessert sat not 2 feet away from her, then she walked away and disappeared again, to come back 5 mins later and bring our dessert to the table. We never did receive our drinks, I had to go ask for cutlery for the dessert, and we waited another 10 mins for the bill after requesting it. This was nothing like my first experience there, but after such a disappointing birthday treat for my mom, I'm honestly not sure I'll be back. A table that was sat just ahead of us when we arrived had THREE groups come and go from it in the time we were there... and we weren't being slow...

Came in for a “Mother’s Day Brunch” as I had called earlier in the week to confirm Branches was having. I was told they were having a brunch from 9-2 and that it was first come first serve. We were sat after about an hour wait (not an issue as we expected long wait times due to Mother’s Day and the special brunch) and were sat outside on the patio. We were given regular menus which was a little disappointing but given this was our first time dining we held out hope. My mom had the bacon mushroom pizza and I had the salmon pizza. Her pizza was flat (no pun intended); just a very boring tasting pizza. My pizza was extremely unbalanced. The salmon was salt lick level salty which was only heightened by the salty capers and cheese. The garlic sauce was the highlight of this pizza but with the addition of the pickled onions that were sweet instead of acidic this pizza was really lacking overall. The service was just as flat. Our server was polite but lacked personality and seemed to miss basic cues like checking on our table and refilling beverages. We only saw her once after our meal was dropped at the table and by that time we had finished and we’re ready for the bill. They seemed well staffed so I’m not sure why we were not met with a more personable experience. Too expensive for...
