Where do I start? I reserved for 14 people, 5 of them being small kids for a mothers day dinner out with the family. Upon arrival, the doorway was stuffed with skip guys, and customers waiting for pick up, and customers waiting to be seated. Our tables were not ready, that was a half an hour wait. Finally when they were, there was next to no food at the buffet. Took about 30 to 40 min for their to be food in the buffet servers. Most of us were scraping what was at the bottom of the buffet servers and a few of us weren't so lucky so we had to wait. We were never asked once if we would like anything to drink we were simply offered ice water. After waiting for food to be refilled there was no cutlery or napkins available. One of the guys working there was putting fish pakora's with his bare hands into the buffet server. I saw a lady in the kitchen constantly touching her nose and packing an order for take out. The vibe of the whole place was off and it seemed like they didn't understand how bad their service was. Skip guys were waiting by our table for over an hour only to be told their orders weren't in, and then waiting longer. The lady whom I assume owned the restaurant kept saying sorry and blaming it on mothers day and it being busy but after reading the other reviews it seems like they need to get it together. Been to a few locations and never have seen such an unorganized mess and poor service. The plus was the ice cream was tasty, but low and behold by the time half of us were ready for dessert the ice cream was out or not working, not really sure but we were told it would "be a while". There wasn't really much options either aside from that.
After mentioning to them their service was poor they gave us a $25.00 to Tandoori fried chicken. Which... if they own it isn't really something to look forward to.
Tried to give them a shot and it was the first time we went anywhere with such poor reviews but probably won't do that again.
I can understand why it was busier than normal, but even with that, this place was the poorest service I've ever had in a restaurant in a developed country. The food itself was okay taste wise, which is why I'm giving it one star. Service was so terrible.

Read moreWhat a disappointment. So we wanted a good lunch and I said NAV buffet my first experience at the 34ave one was amazing... not today .... new buffet....its not a buffet more all you can eat that they bring to you... the experience of taking a bit from the buffet is gone......however the staff when we first said we wanted buffet was passive aggressive and defensive...all I said is I like buffet because I like taking a little bit and I don't remember the names of the things I like....we ordered ask for water to start and would get something later...while taking our order we said not butter chicken, only garlic nan, and medium spice..... so we went got our soup and salad...then a different server delivered our food....not once did any one come back to our table...we saw another table where they went at least 5 time....never came to get the drink order, never came to ask if it was good...AND we didn't even get plates we had to use our salad plates...our food she brought garlic nan for one and butter for the other....and BUTTER CHICKEN....whatever it still tasted good spice was at most mild...then time to leave...heard her talking g to other table that 5$ for takeout box...so 29.99 each pluss 5. For take out....what ever we did t want to waste so we took it..well the nan was on wax paper I wasn't going to put it on the curry for soggyness....so as we are filling the box she comes asks if we want another box I said no ill just take it out like that .she takes it away from infrint of me.no you need another box....we said nope we will just put it on top of curry as there was lots of room...I didn't want to embarrass my sil so I went to the car...only to find out she said you know u don't get to take food out at buffet....but...1. It wasn't a buffet 2. We paid for a box it all fit. 3. The service was horrible.....and we only had what she brought to our table the 1 time as they never came back ... when we asked for a box the other server was surprised we didnt want more food...so we paid 65$ for what 1 person would have...
Read moreCame here on a Friday night hoping to have their buffet dinner but due to low volume of customers, they decided to close their buffet early. Admittingly, we came into the restaurant at 8pm which is past typical dinner hours (although they advertise that they close at 10pm). We were about to leave to go somewhere else, however, the staff who worked there insisted on offering us freshly cooked "buffet platters" which should include most of the food that they normally serve during their peak buffet hours. We obliged and decided to stay.
When the food arrived, I was disappointed to see that there were ONLY FOUR types of dishes served in the "buffet platter" which consisted of butter chicken, chili chicken, chana masala, and bhindi aloo (excluding nan bread, rice, dessert pudding). In addition, the food felt cold and the serving size was small for a buffet platter. I later had to request for more food but even then, the extra food that came out were still small in portion and tasted dry as if it were microwaved.
I wish the staff could have been more honest about the variety and portion size of what was promised to us from the get-go. In the end, I did not feel completely full but still had to pay the full $30 per person price for their extremely limited buffet platter. When we went to pay for the meal, another staff processed our bill and the total cost per person came out to be $32.50 including GST. Whereas it should have been $31.50 per person including GST. This did not occurred to me until I got home. Where did the extra charge $1 charge come from? We did not order anything else besides the $30 meal. The extra dollar is not a big deal but the fact that this extra amount got added to my bill without any communication is what bothers me.
Despite all of that, I have to give credit for their friendliness, their efforts in serving us, and the four delicious dishes that were initially...
