Showed up and there was several empty tables. There was at least 5 tables that left while we were waiting to be seated and finally was told by the waitress that they had a full house and weren't seating any more tables. We weren't told that there would be a wait. Just that they weren't seating any more people. It's not like the restaurant was closing. It was 11 o'clock. Took our business elsewhere.
Edit: response to owner
You get one chance to make a first impression to a new customer. We understand that the hospitality industry has been suffering these past few years.
You have to understand that we saw many empty tables and saw at least 5 tables worth of people leave while we waited. We saw at least 3 other groups get turned away while we were in the parking lot trying to decide where else we wanted to go.
If your staff had said that there would be a 15 minute wait or whatever the wait would have been it would have been our choice at that point whether we stayed or left. But for your staff to just say we aren't seating any more people at this time is completely unprofessional.
What we experienced today will ensure we never step through your doors again. If we had been told that you were busy and there was a half hour wait, we would have likely been willing to try back again another time had we chosen to leave.
You aren't the only restaurant that has ever been busy. This is the first time I've ever been told to leave. As far as this being an 'unfair' review. Do you expect 5 stars? We were turned away from your establishment. Other restaurants are able to handle busy periods and deal with the same issues without offending the patrons. Instead of getting butt hurt, maybe try listening and find a better way to deal with these situations so that you don't drive business away. This review is meant to help you be better. But if you don't want to take the criticism, it's your business that will suffer. There was at least 4 parties in a matter of 10 minutes that were turned away like us. I'm sure they were unimpressed...
Read moreDO NOT EAT HERE!! We came here on a Friday when it was completely dead, Maybe two other tables. Ordered the fish and chips and they came out with pieces of hair on them, when we addressed this with the waitress she took the plate back for 5 minutes , came back out with the same food and said “they threw the food back in the fryer to sanitize it” most disgusting experience ever, if I could rate this zero stars I would. The grease has now been contaminated with hair (who knows how many times)
EDIT in response to owner :
This is the first and only review I have ever written, and it is based on bad ownership and uncleanliness. A simple correction and remade meal Would have been the right thing to do in this situation. We had two dogs tied on the outside of the deck as per the request from when we asked if we were able to have them near the patio. Your server placed the food on the table and was standing right there and seen the hair her self, when she brought it back 5 minutes later her words were “we put it back in the fryer to sanitize it” if your claiming health codes, I’m almost 100 percent sure that putting hair contaminated food back into a fryer goes against several health codes. Absolutely disgusting and hopefully anyone who stops there keeps this review in mind so they aren’t Ingesting contaminated food from your fryers. Sorry you have to deflect a negative review instead of properly addressing it, remember as a restaurant owner you should strive for cleanliness. Stay...
Read moreUpdate Aug 9th-14th 2025: (original review below update) It's been 4 years since the last time time my family and I had the pleasure of dining in at G&G Kitchen and Tap. Our first day into our camping trip and we had to see if the pizza held up to the test of time and we can say without hesitation that it lived up to our memories. We had ordered onion rings, honey garlic wings with two medium pizzas, Meat Lovers & Signature Deluxe. Service was a little slow due to kitchen staff shortage but it is well worth the wait. We stopped in again for breakfast a few days later, the loaded omelette was fantastic. my wife and kids enjoyed their breakfast alongside me. We also ended our Sicamous camping trip with a feast; salt & pepper wings, onion rings, Meat Lovers & BBQ chicken pizzas for our last meal on our last night.
Shout out to the young lad who was our server for both when my family & I dined in and when my wife and daughter picked up our take out on the last night. Very attentive and respectful.
Original Review (July/August 2021): First time stop in for my family and I. Small town "country" atmosphere with exceptional service. A small hiccup with our pizza order which was handled in a friendly, professional manner with the addition of a pizza on-the-house for the mishap. Food was superb, well made and arrived quick, even in a busy setting. Priced well for a meal for a family, appetizers and entrée! Will stop through again on our next family vacation...
