A&W Canada — Restaurant in Smithers

I’m giving this A&W a 5 star rating due to the fact it was some of the freshest A&W I’ve had in a while- it was nice and hot too! Most of the staff were working really hard.

We stopped in there yesterday around 2pm on a road trip to order food. My only complaint about this A&W is that the two teenage boys working yesterday afternoon were acting highly unprofessional at the til area meanwhile we were waiting to order. At first I thought it was maybe a friend visiting their other friend at work- but they were both on shift. There’s nothing wrong with having fun at work (I work in public service) but customers must come first.

The other staff were working really hard and looked annoyed by the young boys unprofessionalism in front of customers. They were definitely picking up any slack and looked embarrassed.

A group of other customers came in while I was waiting for my order to be prepared and the teenage boys were still messing around. The new customers were also kind of just standing there awkwardly waiting for them to stop. They did not...

Really hate complaining on the internet, there so much hate in it already but. I am fairly annoyed at this location. I figured I would give it a try after my previous bad experience. I order a bacon and eggger, and sausage and egger. Pretty basic. I paid with cash. She needed change and made me pull into another spot in the parking lot. She was more concerned about a timer? If I was parked for too long a timer goes off and she gets in trouble? It's 745am and I am the only customer in the entire lot. Just her explaining it and all that wasted 2 minutes.

She was very polite and it was just annoying if you ask me. Why is the worry of a timer more important than a paying customer?

Clean atmosphere but be prepared to pay for your food, I am not talking covid prices or inflation. Small portions and out to lunch prices but at least it's real beef. Cows...

Ordered twice in the last couple days. Dbl teen lettuce wrap, no cheese or onions - delicious! A&W gets the lettuce wrap better than anyone else - layers of crunchy wrap, hot patties, perfect sauces. Too expensive for the money, though. This morning - Great Canadian breakfast, extra hash brown - food was good, not great. Most was hot - bacon was warm and greasy - no second hash brown - took a long long time to prepare so I went to the window again when the line was gone- food was just being packaged and I got to watch the slow process of figuring out how to put it together and what to put in the bags... next time will put in my order in front of the A&W, go do an errand, and return in time to...
