Took my wife to BoomTown for mothers day, ice machine was broken so our drink came with one ice cube each which dissolved in a matter of 1 minute. Served tap water in a glass bottle with a reusable cork top, we ordered the mothers day special so that was two steaks a salad and cheese cake which we never got to try to let you know how it was due to the situation, both steaks came over cooked i asked for mine to be medium rare and it came out well done my wife ordered well done but it came out dry and well well done, our salads were weird but edible thankfully really pretty salads but weird to taste, we ordered a boomtown platter which has chicken strips, speared deep fried pickles onion rings and fries, chicken fingers and pickles were great, onion rings were pretty much ash fries were absolutely soggy. When confronted about the the food being really bad the waitress told me that the fries are fresh but have sat out since this morning so they are sitting in their oils from being blanched in room temperature. They brought the fix it steaks out and they were also cooked wrong and our stomachs were already not feeling good from eating the food they have already served us being so full of deep fryer oil. The entire time we sat there we hear a microwave go off about 13 times i told them i will pay for what we have ate but i will not pay for the stuff we will not eat. Total bill came to $112 for over cooked meat soggy fries singed onion rings a beautiful salad that tastes odd i told him id pay for what we ate and drank about 4 times and he said you guys need to leave right now saying its free but acting like he wanted to get in an altercation with an angry face shaking hands and crossing them at the table saying that i should have told him i wouldnt eat the second steaks that were over cooked before we received them. Beautiful dinning area but poor service wish i could post the pictures i took because they are absolutely disgusting
We went to A&W I'm which my wife didn't even want anything because of our...
Read moreOctober 7, 2021. Outstanding food, cleanliness, staff and owner and décor. First time eating here. Excellent menu. What a delight in having a wonderful meal in a small establishment, always nice to be able to kick the chain restaurants to the curb. Had the Butter Chicken - excellent - much better than I have had in other places. This Butter Chicken had more robust flavor that lingered on the palate and a more red color, versus the often bland gold color which is usually the case. Generous meat portion and the sauce, so much depth of flavor. Husband had the BoomTown Curry. Also excellent. But it was the caramelized eggplant, OMG, it was like having eggplant jam, the flavor was smoky and sweet and a bit acid - perfect. The establishment was soooo clean. The bathrooms totally modern and hands free everything, all coordinated and well done. Our wait staff lady was gracious and did the Ontario check in protocol and was perfectly timed in her enquiries. Also met the owner, a wonderful man with much restaurant background indeed. At 5 pm on a Thursday, there appeared to be decent phone in and pick up purchases. Highly recommend Boomtown Fusion Eatery. Read morePizza was good. Other Sri lankan food was a dish. Had to return my dish as it tasted like some leftover surprise I'd make at home and eat not to waste food. It wasn't THAT bad but it wasn't good. the veg was soggy the chicken was dry and overall the dish so so bland. I had been told multiple times it was the house special and spicy I thought why not? Texture nope and taste nope. and the poor waitress couldn't even return the dish without me speaking to the owner.
The owner was so rude. He told me he had never once had a complaint about the dish...well sir often people dont like to complain, they just don't come back. I personally am not willing to pay for something I can make better at home.
He reluctantly took it off my bill(as if I would pay for something I didn't like and didn't eat) but said if I ordered something else and didn't like it either then I would be stuck paying for it....ummm no thanks. Also made for a very unpleasant dining experience as he then kept coming outside to look at us? But not say anything? No apology was offered at any point.
My husband was kind enough to share his pizza. It was good or maybe I was hungry but at least there was something to enjoy from...
