A fantastic fusion restaurant! If you're in the Squamish area, you really need to try this restaurant!
My wife and I ate here for the first time yesterday and the Haru Fusion Cuisine didn't disappoint.
We enjoyed the deep fried spicy gyoza which had a super flavourful sauce. Crispy and the spice was just right. Not too spicy that would take away from the flavour in the sauce. We also enjoy the crispy calamari as another app! Super crunchy battery, yet the calamari was tender. To top it all off the garlic dip sauce balances everything nicely. Well worth adding these two appetizers to your meals.
On the side, I enjoyed a miso soup. Well priced for a nice small bowl to rise my palette before going into our main.
Our main dish, was the Seafood Creamy Noodles! Oooo so good! If you are a garlic fan, this is your dish! Fresh garlic bits are scattered in the sauce that is truly creamy and rich. It had bits of scallop, mussels, shrimp and calamari! Onions and mushrooms in the sauce also bring everything together. I highly recommend this dish if you want a delicious seafood pasta style meal.
Not only was the food amazing, but this restaurant has great service. We learned that this restaurant is owned by a South Korean owner, who had this great vision of a Korean-Japanese fusion restaurant, but many of the servers and wait staff are Filipino. The Filipino crew has top tier service! They are super friendly, tentative (my water was also full), and communicative. The moment we walked into the restaurant we could see it was packed and busy, but they acknowledged us right away and asked to take a quick seat, where we waited only 5 minutes. From watching from our table, this was constantly done (always greeting everyone who walked in despite how busy they were). Kudos to the serving staff. A solid group of hospitality professionals.
Please, please, please go to Haru! You will not be disappointed if you crave fusion style food and want to try something different from your traditional restaurant food chains. If you are in Whistler or passing through through Squamish to go to Whistler, I can guarantee you it's well worth the detour to come down to this restaurant. Free parking and price point for this restaurant is way better than the high prices...
ย ย ย Read moreWow just wow. The flavour of all of our dishes was amazing. Yes I tried a bbit of everything. The lemon shrimp appy was fantastic. The service was some of the best I have had in a while. They even have a whole area of toys for the kids. I had my 1 year old grandchild with us. They brought out some rice specifically for her with a baby plate and baby silicone cutlery and cup. It was my daughter in laws birthday, and they offered her a complimentary beverage. We were so very full from the very generous portions that 3 of us shared creme brule because we just had to try it. They gave us disposable plates and cuttlery to take to our hotel as I mentioned we had cake to serve when we returned.. appy, 3 huge meals, drinks, and a desert to share including tax and tip was only $115. If this place had fancy decor, this would be a Micheline quality 5 star restaurant. 2 of our meals were served in a flaming dish so the temperature stayed piping hot to the end. We all had leftovers to take away and were stuffed. Great job overall. We will definitely be back when we are in the area next. I highly recommend...
ย ย ย Read moreMy friends and I were super hungover and were coming back home after a trip to whistler, craving for asian food. We then stumbled upon Hara Fusion restaurant and on arrival, we were heavily welcomed by the waitress and even the chef. Thatโs when you know the food is going to be good. The waitress knew we were all exhausted then recommended dishes and we did not regret to follow her choices!
The food upon arrival looked amazing and portions were perfect for its price. The food was a 10/10 and everyone is happy, filled with glee and revived back to life from the dead. We never knew we needed something so badly until you've had Haru fusions food because words just can't express how good and worth the food was. We are from Vancouver and we are making this place a mandatory stop for whenever we go to whistler or squamish anytime we visit.
recommendations are their; k fried chicken (any of the 3 flavours), any of the udon, and the katsu curry dish!
Big thank you to the waitress and chef there for the big hearted welcoming. We hope to see...
