A&W Canada — Restaurant in St. Albert

Never seem to be satisfied when leaving this A&W. Today’s experience is a testament to that once again. We ordered a teen burger combo as well as two chicken bacon wraps. The problem started in the drive thru when I asked for the combo and the worker didn’t even confirm what drink we wanted. I noticed this and proceeded to repeat myself at the end of our order that the drink for the COMBO would be a rootbeer. We pull up to the window and our total was not told to us and when we handed her cash, she short changed us by 5c (not a huge deal but should be noted after this awful experience). Then, once we got our food, we check the bag and there are no fries to accompany our combo. We ask for the fries and the worker said we did not order them. We checked the receipt and we were charged separately for the burger and drink. No combo (after repeating myself not once but twice). She then said she could get us fries but she would have to charge us for them. The point of a combo is that it is cheaper than buying all of the items separately but I’m not sure that she understood that. We left very dissatisfied. We will not be returning and if I could give a 0/5 start...

Updated March 2025: The staff are still nice. I like that this has a 24hr drive through. Late night bacon and eggers mean it's fresh made and hot. The poutine at A & W has to be the best fast food type of poutine.. the ratio of gravy, curds and fries are nicely balanced. It's the best item on thier menu.

Staff always seems friendly but I wasn't impressed to see only 6 onion rings in the order of what was suppose to be a large size order.

NEW VISIT MAY 5TH 2022--

Tried the new Prime Rib Burger.. it looked like canned dog food, had the texture of canned dog food and tasted awful, like canned dog food. Don't waste your money on this one..Stick to the older burgers. There were two of ordered it and both had same reaction...

Ended up getting a stomach virus/food poisoning from this location when ordering at night.

The burger was undercooked and freezer burnt. Like the meat itself was pink but also severely overcooked/Milly on certain sections. Looked moldy/like maggots. Ate a bite or two before I noticed. Ended up throwing up and.chucking the rest.

I buy from here everyday, I spend well over $1000 a month at this location, granted I've always havd issues here and there but never like this. Will not buy from here again.

The worst part? They only gave me a refund for half the burger cost. What a joke. Here I am still throwing up a week later and...
