I visited the Church's on St Albert Trail and ordered a BBQ chicken sandwich combo w/ onion rings. Sandwich was nicely wrapped, but once unwrapped, it appears I was given a poorly prepared sandwich. Chicken was not hot at all. Bread tasted cold and freezer-burnt. I reckon this is due to not properly defrosting and toasting of the buns. Bread also had lots of flour, enough to fill a small teaspoon. Cheese was not even melted onto the chicken breast; it was just awkwardly sitting there. Chicken spices are literally non-existent. Most of the flavor was just the BBQ sauce alone. Onion rings: Perfect execution! It was the only saving grace of the meal and review. Good size rings, good portion size, good breading and good crunchiness. Keep it up with the onion rings! You need to make a better chicken sandwich by starting over. The chicken needs to be hot temperature-wise. This one was lukewarm at best. A good chicken sandwich has to be crunchy AF, and needs the spices that make the chicken breast the prime focus. The condiments should never take the spotlight away from the chicken breast. Your bread will also need work. There should be 0 traces of flour powder on the bread. Either it's fresh bread, it's frozen bread that was defrosted and toasted properly, or it's trash. No exceptions. Also remove the cheese. I want you to convince me that Popeyes is not worth the extra 3 minute drive.

I ordered the BBQ chicken platter with fries and jalapeno bundles(?). I didn't know a platter was an option. There's combos and platters. I didn't see this on the menu, maybe the cashier just had to tell you about the options, which is ok. Staff were polite. The restaurant was empty but very clean looking. Seems to be lots of seating. Drive thru option is available. What I liked about the restaurant is the bathrooms are on opposite ends of the dining room. I don't know why I like that, I just do. The fries were crinkle cut (I ate them all before I started taking pics of food, oops!). They looked pale but were crunchy and well cooked. Not salty at all. The jalapeno poppers/bundles were tasty. Not too spicy. I was surprised by the tiny container of sauce, I've never seen a container so small, however, it was more than plenty for what I needed it for. The chicken itself is bland tasting but the BBQ sauce helped with the flavor. Shredded lettuce, which I LOVE, and a slice of cheese all nestled on a nice, fresh tasting brioche bun. I can't say it wowed me, not sure it's a restaurant I'll crave, but I might go back again to try the chicken strips.

The classic chicken burger was cold, dry and the worst part, soggy. I could peel off the batter and it was soft like uncooked chicken skin. The patty itself was very pale like undercooked. I asked for a new burger and the patty was still pretty light in colour only some golden spots in the centre. The patty was paler than the fries (see photos). I suspect the staff deep-fry the patties slightly and then just pan-fry them to re-heat once the customers make an order. Not the best way to cook fried chickens. Another time I order the 12-pc meal and the staff completely forgot about my order. I was there waiting for a long time and saw customers who came after me got their orders. When I asked the staff, they acted like they forgot and had to quickly prep my order. By the time I got home, I realized the staff forgot the sides. Not going to give them the third chance. I’ll go to Popeye.

Dear church's chicken St. Alberta addition, tonight was my first visit to your drive through. It began with a very polite clear and concise greeting at your speaker. After placing my order this is where is started to head south, the drive through was in no way busy (one vehicle in front of me) that vehicle seemed to wait quite long (10 minutes) which is a lifetime in a drive through. When it was my turn to pull up, you greeted me politely and took my payment apologizing for the wait time. This still doesn't justify the chaos going on in the kitchen. After what seemed like a lifetime you brought me my coke with ice which I asked politely for with no ice, fair you guys are busy and ice isn't going to ruin my meal. Now I'm waiting for my meal and the nice gentleman tries to give me the wrong order, at least he told me what the order he was trying to give me was so I didn't have to find out and have to make another trip through this now excruciatingly slow process. Finally get my food, check it because at this point I've lost confidence. Hallelujah!!! It's right!!!! Ate the delicious onion rings first (fantastic rings guys!!!!) Got home with the Texas chicken burger...

I had to navigate through the sea of mayo on the burger, the chicken was crunchy but lacking any sign of seasoning. I have now read other reviews and know I'm not the only one missing the seasoning. Overall my take away is churches is expensive but not worth my money. As I stared at the people flying through at the A&W I now know where I will and won't take my money for a decently priced well seasoned burger. #prayforchurcheschicken too discover...

Tried it for the first time tonight. Went into the store, instead of the drive thru. One family in the store waiting for food, a few cars in the drive thru, thought to my self, this should be quick. Ordered a 8 piece combo (chicken, biscuits, fries) plus a side of gravy. The nice lady who took told me it would be a 10 min wait, after 20 min I had my food and home I went. I guess they did not anticipate people would want to buy chicken at super time . I get home, open the bag, they forgot my fries. I get it, people are human, mistakes happen, but honestly, the combo has only three things, how do you forget one after having 20 minutes to get it right, it's not like there were 50 people lined up, or I had some huge order. They remembered the side of gravy to go with the fries. I didn't feel like a drive back thu a snow storm to get my fries, hopefully the staff can enjoy them.

The chicken was barely cooked enough to be safe to eat, and certainly not cooked enough to be tasty, kinda pink and rubbery, couldn't get off the bone, pale yellow batter, not crispy. Very flat tasting. Despite the long wait for it, I would have put up for 5 minutes more to have it fully cooked. The biscuits were good, so was the gravy, but that does not make a fried chicken meal.

All in it was a slightly worse experience than KFC, and that is a very low bar...
