Doug's Quality Meats — Restaurant in St. Catharines

I was looking for a big (8 lb, 4 bone) prime rib roast. After finding an overly lean one big enough nearby I called Doug’s. He said he had one that was nice and well marbled. He’d get it ready. When I got there it was already wrapped. The price was fair for a good roast (17/lb?) but I was slightly concerned at not being able to see it first. When I saw it at home it was very nicely marbled; after cooking it and serving it to effusive guests I was more than pleased. Excellent meat! Went into the store today 02/28/2020 to buy some meat with my skeptical wife to show her how nice and clean the store was. We waited for the clerk to finish with the previous customer and after cashing him out he came to the display where we were looking at the product and asked if he could help us. We said we would like some sausage and he reached in touching them with his unwashed hands he had just touched the till and debit machine with the previous customer. My girlfriend who knows meats went there with me this past month.

Now I don't know a lot about meat but they were very accommodating for her particular plan with the cuts etc and the steak she served for the special occasion we were having was THE best steak I've had in my life by far.

Their butcher there was extremely friendly and more than happy to talk to her about what cut she was using and what would work best.
