I normally love Goncha. A couple of days ago I had a craving for it. I hadn't had it for awhile so I decided to go there and get my favorite drink which was the Dolce coffee hot with Tapioca. It tasted fine. When I was almost done drinking it I started to feel unwell. Within the next 30min I was shaking, hot, nauseous, extremely dizzy, my legs were weak and numb feeling along with my face. I thought I was going to pass out. I've never had a reaction like that before. My other 2 kids were fine; but they did order something different. I proceeded to be like that the rest of the day. It was so bad I was actually getting scared and thought about going to the ER. It was a scary odd feeling. I started to use the bathroom, but was grateful hoping that whatever reaction I was having would pass through. I still feel off even 2 days later. I tried to do some trouble shooting to figure out what it was that could have made me sick; dirty equipment etc. Salmonella!! Nope!! That happens 6hrs after, this was instantly. Then after researching I found that if Tapioca pearls are not prepared properly you can get cyanide poisoning. Bingo!!! My symptoms for that matched the description of this poisoning to the T. I tried calling the place, just to let them know, but I was unable to get to speak to anyone. Please be aware when consuming Tapioca pearls. Like I said this place has been awesome since this one terrible experience I've had. I also didn't realize that Tapioca pearls can be extremely toxic when not...
Read moreI've been visiting gong Cha for about two years now. They have a wide selection of bubble tea and very creative drinks. The staff are kind, and are experts when making speciality drinks.
I've been coming more frequently this month and noticed a drop in quality, it doesn't taste that great anymore. I've also noticed that the stickers by default print out 70% sugar even though I got 100% sugar (I still got 100% sugar so it really isn't a problem).
The staff here, work so hard and handle several orders simultaneously that they don't ask if you want a receipt, they expect the customer to ask one at this location. I forgot to ask for a receipt until after I finished my drink an hour later. The cashier said she didn't know how to issue a receipt, and it could only be done at time of purchase. It's a clover machine so all you have to do is go to transactions and reprint. I needed the receipt to get reimbursed but I didn't really fight for it because I did forget to ask. I was just really bummed out when I left the store.
I don't think I'll be visiting this location again, but I do encourage you to try if you haven't, their selection is very good and you will find something you like. Their Croffles...
Read moreI’ve ordered at Gong Cha so many times, but my experience today made me extremely disappointed. I ordered at around 9:20pm, with one Large size Brown Sugar Milk tea adding pearls inside, 2 egg waffles and 1 Korean style hotdog. However, I don’t think I’ll come again within 3 months, the food quality was quite disappointing. I spent $29 dollars for 4 items. Beside $0.90 charges on one topping in the drink, I’m paying $5.99 for such a ridiculous hotdog which didn’t match the picture at all. The hotdog was not even bigger than two packs of ketchup! Moreover, the staff there was not familiar with their duty. Yet only 3 groups of customers were inside the store including me, the employee was about to give my items to other customers. I can understand the increased price due to the inflation, but I don’t think that’s the way how you treat your customers with high-price but...
