Having hard time understanding the logic on the server here. Went here with my gf, just the two of us. There were 2 empty 2 seater tables available when we entered. Two customers were behind us coming in. The server seats my gf and I to the table closest to the door entrance. Where we feel the cold air come in every time the door opens. Server says it's the ONLY table available. Yet, we clearly see the other 2 seater table available, which she gives to the other customers behind us. Thought that was odd, but let it slide. She should have provided us the choice of table. Along the back of the restaurant. There are three 4 seater tables, completely open. We ask to move to one of those free tables, as we didn't want to sit right in front to door entrance but shockingly the server refused. She said, she has to save those tables in case other customers come in. Having a difficult time understanding the logic here. So she rather let 2 customers be unhappy at their current table, to SAVE those free tables for POTENTIAL costumers that may or may not come in. We also noticed another 4 seater table was occupied by only 2 customers, when we asked about that the server with a lot of attitude snaps back at us saying it's because of the customers at that table already left. After that we walked out. Needless to say, we will not be coming back and telling everyone we know never to go here. There are plenty other breakfast places in the city, that we rather go and give our money to than this place. EDIT: no accountabilty in her apology. I read the other many many negative reviews and one thing is very consistent - poor customer service by you. Poor attitude. Again, I will continue telling everyone never to go here. I actually went to sunset grill, it...
Read moreWe used to go here for breakfast at least 40 out of 52 weekends for many years when the previous owner had it. Since then we have gone twice, first time was ok but service was lacking and today we ended up leaving before we got our food. The "waitress" seemed to be irritated because I asked for milk instead of cream with my coffee after I had already asked her co-worker when she took our order. They then proceeded to talk about us. I had ordered the basic breakfast and my husband had ordered the Montreal smoked meat sandwich like we had dozens of times before. After waiting for over half an hour, coffee drank and was not approached once to ask if I wanted more coffee, watching people who came in after us not only get their food but almost finished eating and is still waiting we decided to leave. Went to the counter to pay for the cofee (he only had water), once one of them finally appeared they tried to change us for two coffee feeling proud because it was $6 and change and she noticed that my husband only had a $5 bill in his hand, we then reminded her that it was one coffee she was then embarrassed and flustered so told us just to go. The previous staff was amazing which we tipped them very well for. The restaurant industry is very difficult to survive in and this is not the way to do it. Ended up going to Stacked, service and food on...
Read moreWas in town for a couple of days, and wanted to support local business. I walked in and said 'Good morning!' to an elderly woman with black dyed hair. I exclaimed, "Burger King is closed" with a silly grin on my face. She didn't respond. I then asked her how her day was going? As she walked away, replied "good". Another elderly lady entered from the kitchen, with a surprised look on her face. I smiled and said, "Good morning." The first lady returned and asked if I was staying or going. I replied, ''I'd like to stay.'' She then pointed to tables on both sides of the room, which were all empty. I spotted a table for two, along the wall, but opted for a table for four, near a window. As I walked towards the table, she then suggested the table for two. I stopped and turned around. I asked, ''You want me to sit there?'' I started to head in the direction she pointed at. She replied, ''Yeah!. Sitting at a table for four is just weird.'' I immediately felt unwelcome. I gave a heavy sigh, and turned towards the door, and replied, ''Have a great day.'' She replied, ''You too.'' As i stepped out, I could hear her say, "Geeze" and I replied, "YUP!!"
I'm not sure why she needed to express her opinion. I didn't ask for it and it her negativity was discouraging.
Is the food good? Don't know. Was the waitress rude. Down...
