I'm only granting this two stars because I never actually got to taste the food, so I have no point of reference as to how it tastes. Very, very upset with my treatment from this restaurant. I had pre-scheduled an order for delivery for 5:50 PM (placed around 3:00PM), but selected pickup by accident. I called in to see if they would be willing to deliver the food, and they said they would, so I provided the address at which to deliver it to, and they said no problem.

6:00PM rolls around and I give the restaurant a call to inquire about my food, they apologized and said it had gotten busy but that they would be leaving soon. I said that was fine, I understand that things get busy. Then 6:30 rolls around and I call back to the restaurant inquiring again about the status of my order, they said they were still busy and hadn't left yet, but that I would "get it in the next 15 minutes for sure."

I then get a phone call about 5 minutes later saying that they should never have said yes to the delivery, that they cannot deliver to my address, and that if I wanted to come pick up the food at the restaurant it would be free but they would otherwise throw it out. I recognize that's a generous offer, but I also told them that I couldn't come pick up the food as I was at work, that is why I pre-scheduled a delivery. They apologized and then hung up. So I am now 45 minutes past my delivery time with no food to speak of and little to no accountability as to why my delivery wasn't processed.

I am a very understanding person, I recognize things get hectic, that there are new people that were probably involved and said yes without triple checking the facts, but having called once to correct and place the order, and two times to confirm, I would have thought one of those three times that I would have been told it was not possible to deliver to me.

I'm not certain I'll be tempted to order from this restaurant again based on this kind of...

I've been meaning to try this place as I'm always down for curry and this place seemed promising with very positive reviews. I finally got to order a takeout from here and I'm happy to report it lived up to my expectation.

I ordered the steamed vegetarian momo, the garlic Naan, the prawns biryani, the lamb vindaloo, and the fish curry. The server warned me that the biryanis are spicy, but ironically the momo were surprisingly spicy and definitely spicier than biryani. I enjoyed the momo though, it was packed with flavours. The prawns biryani was equally good; the prawns were not overcooked, the rice was cooked well and the overall package was seasoned well. My favourites were definitely the lamb vindaloo and the fish curry. The lamb vindaloo had that deep umami from tomatoes that worked beautifully with the curry flavour. There was also just the right flavour from the lamb meat without its gaminess. The fish curry, on the other hand, had milder flavours with the coconut milk being the central element. The fish was cooked perfectly and had the right texture and seasoning, and there was no fishiness whatsoever.

I am looking forward to ordering from this place again, we were pleased with everything we ordered and the portions were quite generous. If you are looking for a good Indian restaurant in St. Catharines, make sure to give...

The platter is a great introductory dish to assess various menu items and discover which ones you would order again. I found the tandoori chicken absolutely delicious and thoroughly enjoyed our side of momos. The tandoori was packed with flavor and tasted like it had been cooked over a charcoal grill. The momos reminded me of pot stickers and were delicious. The platter is also quite filling and, for a smaller appetite, could easily be shared. I also enjoyed that the platter was accompanied by salad and a healthy amount of Naan bread. The establishment is very clean and had good customer turnover. This suggests people have found the menu item(s) that speaks to them, like the tandoori did for me. We will definitely be back and hope the quality is consistent so we can make this our go-to for Indian cuisine. Update: The Curry Pot has become our go-to restaurant for Indian food (literally bookmarked on Google Maps). The dishes are consistently delicious and priced more than reasonably based on quality/quantity. I'm in that honeymoon phase where I have a craving more than once a week and am never disappointed with the feast that awaits.

I went to The Curry Pot Restaurant excited for an authentic Indian food experience — but I left upset and disappointed. I ordered two chicken dishes: the tandoori chicken platter and the chicken tikka masala. The tandoori chicken tasted old and reheated, like it had been cooked overnight — dry, chewy, and far from fresh. The chicken tikka masala, which was described as creamy on the menu, came out chunky and sour, tasting more like tomato sauce you’d eat with eggs than an actual curry. I had no problem paying my bill — $58.46 — but honestly, that’s too much for food I couldn’t even eat. The staff clearly knew something was wrong, yet instead of owning up, they just gave me a 10% discount 😂, which didn’t mean anything at that point. The only things that were actually decent were the momos, the basa fish, and the chilli naan — those were nice. Everything else was a total letdown. Don’t be fooled by fake reviews. I even posted a picture of my table — you can see how much food I left behind. I walked out hungry, disappointed, and sixty dollars poorer.
