Went here last weekend to check it out, and I was highly impressed!
Food- we didn't eat so cannot comment. But did see someone order and it did look delicious. They don't offer full food service, so not a place to get dinner. However, they do offer shareables you can split with friends.
Service- staff is extremely nice and helpful. Had very pleasant conversations with a few of them. Definitely great service, just slow at times to come to the table for orders. We finished our drink and was about ten mins before someone came to check up on us
Atmosphere - it's dark for sure that it does make it hard to read the menu. The ambiance is great. Definitely a cocktail bar that reminds me of the 1950s, not because of the decor (which is lovely), but it has that something to it, I can't find the words to describe it but it is a great thing! They do have live music every weekend which is nice. Love the piano playing and hoping to catch jazz night. I do recommend more advertisement to show what the month line up is. It definitely still seems like an undiscovered gem in St Thomas.
Drinks - oh the drinks! They are very good! Definitely sweet. Started with the purple rain and it was delicious! Comes with a cloud made of cotton candy. Then proceeded with the blackberry mojito (which I finally found a place that knows how to make one in town!!!) was perfect. My fiancee for his second drink got the Campfire Smoke that they add a smoke bubble to it upon serving. Was fun and cool to watch them do that and that is by far my fiance's favorite drink, but it is very sweet. What's nice about the menu, the server stated it changes monthly which keeps the drinks fresh and excitement to come and see what's new. (I have to say I can't wait to see what Halloween drinks they come out with!).
Price- drinks range from $9 to $15 a drink. Some of their fun drinks can be made as non alcoholic which is awesome!!! Not all can be, but they do have a small section with other non alcoholic drinks.
Attire- casual. Seen people come fancy to just casual. No set dress code that I noticed, but great little place to wear that cocktail dress!
Overall, this place is a great new and different addition to St. Thomas. They do open later in the evening 8pm. But for a nice night out where you can still be able to hold a conversation, enjoy great new and exciting cocktails, while listening to great local music that provides variety of music. Highly recommend, and do go on Facebook (hopefully they get a website!) that provides some information on...
Read moreBass Notez is definitely one of a kind. I love that they are unique and elegant without being overpriced. With all the same hum drum bars in St. Thomas this one stands apart. They have country, rock and Jazz nights so there is music for every taste (just ensure you inform yourself on the music for that night before you go!). The food is spectacular and the drinks would rival any fancy bar in Toronto or London. I wish I had pictures to share. Keep up the great work; your bar is a breath...
Read moreBass Notez turned out to be a hidden gem in St. Thomas. Small and tucked away, the atmosphere inside was another story. The dark ambiance was a perfect setting for the jazz playing inside. The live music was fantastic, and the drinks theatrical and creative. We did not have any food so I cannot comment on this. I think the decor can be improved on in the future (some of it, you can tell came from the dollar store), but the overall experience was still a treat :) all the best to...
