St Thomas has never had access to a decent taco. Ever. I don’t care what you say haha.
That has finally changed. I had the great joy to visit here when I was briefly in town recently. I was actually going to make tacos and this place was suggested on the way to the market.
The sign out front was a good omen to start. Not a single trace of shredded cheese or lettuce.
We were greeted by two lovely Mexican women. That’s good omen number two. One of them was in the back cranking out fresh tortillas while the other offered to help us.
I think they are very smart to put such a simplified menu out at this early stage. Get a little too authentic and it can be a bit much for folks who are still being introduced to a new cuisine. I hope on my next visit that they’ll be marred by the entire town and can prepare any food they wish! I can’t remember where you said you were from but you mentioned Barbacoa being one of the dishes and what you served is Cabeza so guessing Gulf. I hope you’re able to bring many dishes of the region to this spot in time.
They have lime Jarritos so that’s another instant win.
I wish only the best things for this place and will be back next time I’m in the region.
It is so nice to finally see Mexican food in St Thomas and not a glorified Old El Paso...
Read moreRestaurant is still being set up but the cashier was pleasant and willing to help guide me through what was available and suggestions.
Wait wasn't to long, approx 5-10 minutes.
Ordered the 3 taco combo, with one of each meat. The Barbacoa was my favourite, had a lot of flavour and a nice crunch to the ends of the meat. The beef was well cooked and also had a good flavour! The chicken through was a bit bland but juicy. The toppings tasted fresh and were plentiful! Asked for the medium spicy sauce but it didn't bring any heat at all, would recommend maybe trying the hot to see if it has a bit of kick.
The small potatoes in the combo were well seasoned and cooked well with a little crisp to the skin and a nice soft inside, though I only received 4 small potatoes in my combo which didn't feel like enough. Next time I think I will just get the tacos on their own.
Recommend trying and I will be back...
Read more5 Stars all the way around! I was out for a ride on my motorcycle and happened to spot the Taco House Co sign. Decided to drop in and give it a try. Well let me tell you! The warm welcome from the owner herself was beyond genuine and I knew I had to try it. I ordered the 3 taco meal, with a drink. They have a beautiful bistro set up so you can sit out side in the nice weather, and a standing/sitting shelf inside should you choose to eat in. Hands down pure authentic delicious taco’s! This is a must try if you are in the area, and it is all completely GLUTEN FREE. My wife and daughter both have celiac disease, and it’s difficult to find places to eat. Thank you for the excellent hospitality! I’ll...
