Updated, Aug 12/24... This pub in Summerland sits along some of the very worst businesses in the Okanagan! And there are not many bad ones. See below on WHY and on what happened and to know that their owner is very argumentative and uncaring! He did not apologize at all and he never responded off here as you can see, (unless he now adds after seeing this). He argued off Facebook and denied that the nachos were soggy and greasy and microwaved!!! Worst nachos no kidding that I ever had in my LIFE! I was with 3 others too and all agreed that the nachos were so gross! Service was not attentive and no smiles grumps so we did not address it and paid and left!
Original review below...
I have to say and report sadly that these nachos were the soggiest, greasiest and just the worst nachos I have ever had and the 4 others with me said the very same thing. It was so obvious too to the server who acted like this never happened. I tried to say at end that the fries were good but these were the worst nachos we ever had and just a walk away...? We had to have a refire too after the original arrival and obviously set in the microwave after and not baked for a bit longer after we all noticed a lot of the cheese did not even melt under the top layer. The so called refire came back to us super quick! $23 for what??? ): (At Peacock Perch Summerland)...May 7th. (Stopped in after some golf and a flat tire on the other car to change).
Expensive prices there now and not attentive service and these gross nachos so I am not venturing back until new management/owners! ...
Read moreUpdate: I went back for a small staff Christmas party. All of our food was served practically cold. I ordered the steak medium rare but it was cooked medium and was full of gristle. The Caesar salad was warm and wilted. The only thing on my plate that was hot and satisfactory was the fries. One of the members of my party complained to our server about the food and service and she was offered 50% off her bill but the server never asked myself or my other staff member how our food was. We had the same experiences but were not offered any compensation. That’s really not fair. It was an extremely loud atmosphere too. Not an enjoyable experience at all.
My friends took me to this pub for the first time as they recommended it. Great service and a very nice atmosphere. It was tastefully decorated for Christmas and I felt like I was at someone's home because it was so warm, inviting, comfortable and cozy. We were just going to have a beer but we decided to order nachos. I have had nachos at many different places and these were hands down the best I've ever had. They triple layered the toppings and cheese so they were just as delicious at the bottom as the top. They added lots of cheese and that's where most places skimp out but not here. Everything was so fresh and tasty. Amazing guacamole! Tasted home made. Three of us shared a regular nachos and it was more than enough. Definitely worth the drive from Penticton. I can't...
Read moreGreat local restaurant despite the distancing they're still plenty of seating inside, and a decent amount of seating on the patio. Service is pretty quick, a decent variety of local craft beers as well as a few staple commercial ones.
Food is very good there's a number of dishes they do very well here and despite the menu changing slightly they've kept them which is nice. Burgers are well built and side dishes are generous, chicken wings are very good All meat very little fat and slightly crunchy on the outside.
I've been here on many occasions with my wife as well as friends and I'll certainly be going back in the future.
Update Aug 2022 They don't 'do' reservations. Disappointing because I can't just show up with 10 people for a Saturday Birthday dinner and hope that there is seating available for all of us together. Because if there isn't seating, now we've got a goose chase around Summerland to try and find a restaurant. Another business allergic to money, weird. I got 10 people in their early forties ready to spend money on appetizers, dinner, drinks and dessert. Might want to consider 'taking'...
