We arrived in PEI and knew we would want seafood. That’s our goal for the four nights we are here in Summerside at an awesome B&B. Read reviews for all local seafood places and most had many negative reviews, some more than others. But this place had some favourable reviews so we took a chance with hopes to at least have a decent seafood meal. We should have just believed the negative reviews. The one thing this place does not have is good food. We ordered a two pc fish n chips, and two pc fish taco. Good sizes, but that all that was good. Fries were too salty. Fish taco was nothing more than deep fried batter fish sitting in a store-bought soft tortilla shell. The fish was also dry meaning over cooked. The fish lacked any seasoning, the batter was a bit greasy like Vaseline on my lips, and one bottle of Aquafina. Total charge was $60. Plus $3 for using a credit card. That is bad business for the customer who is already overpaying for the quality, or lack-there-of quality of food. we haven’t seen that charge in any place we’ve been in the Maritimes or anywhere else in Canada. I thought credit card charges to the customer went away in the early 2000s. I did not realize there was a charge until I overheard the person at the counter tell a customer there was a $3 charge after I had already began eating. I was not told that but that’s fine I can mention it here and grade accordingly. When you read reviews, you have to ask yourself do we chance it or just stay away? Well we are absolutely staying away from the place. The only good feature to the place is The girls at the counter, one of which is the granddaughter of the owner, they were energetic and very pleasant. The other good feature is the scenery inside the small comfy eat-in place and the outside overlooking the harbour and boats. However, if a place does not have quality food, the. It does not matter what else is good. It’s a big thumbs down from us 👎 I give it a one star because I can’t choose less for the food. But the service and the setting is ok. So that is not a fail. That is a good passing grade. I will never recommend eating here. But it’s your choice. Your stomach may object later on so good luck with that.

Wow! Was deciding on a place to eat dinner with my family after a long day of travelling. Picked this place based solely on the reviews… boy were they right. Everything we had was delicious. I got 2 fish tacos with a side of potato salad. It was so big and filling that I could only eat 1 taco! Fish was amazing and so well cooked. My husband had his first ever lobster roll and he said it was Fantastic! He said the fries were homemade and delicious. My son had the 2 piece fish and chips… it was soooooo good. Pieces of fish were so big, and I thought no way he was going to eat it all… but he did.. he said they were too good not to eat! Lol The staff was so nice, helpful and very welcoming. Came to our table twice to see how we were doing with our food. Please go here, and you will not be disappointed. Promise1 Also sat on the patio at the back. Lovely views too!

Friendly service and delish seafood in a casual atmosphere with 5 or 6 small tables inside. We wished we had time to come more then once because Jolly Rogers has the best lobster roll on the island (and we went to a lot of places and tried:) It was raining on our last night in PEI so we were in the mood for chowder. Jolly Rogers seafood fully loaded chowder was the best chowder we had with the right balance of creamy, some potato but lots of big chucks of fish and assorted seafood. The chicken burger was a hit too as well as the PEI fries. Thank you for friendly service too that made us feel like regulars. We highly recommend if you are in Summerside and if not, make a point on going.

We would like to thank the owners of Jolly Rogers Seafood for giving us a very special treat when we were in Summerside on September 9, 2021. We were a group of 17 cyclists, staying overnight; and we were looking for a place to have supper. The places we had tried in the area were all full or booked with other groups. My husband and I went into Jolly Rogers to ask about their hours of operation and whether they could accommodate a group or size. Although they were about to close, these kind people stayed open for us; and we had the restaurant all to ourselves. They food was delicious; the owners were welcoming and the atmosphere was just great. Thank you so very much for your hospitality and the wonderful meals.
