I have eaten here twice now. The first time was shortly after they opened. Food was good but you could tell they were still getting sorted. They didn't have plates etc for the people dining in. The second time was today. Food was terrific. They are much more settled and set up as a restaurant now. Food was terrific. I got the jerk chicken thigh with rice and peas. It comes with slaw, boiled veggies and fried plantains. I ordered the fried dumplings and ginger beer as well. Chicken was juicy with the grill/bbq and jerk flavour. I liked that they also give a small serving of extra jerk sauce on the side - I prefer dipping my chicken rather than dousing extra sauce on it. It wasn't overly spicy - so I added more hot sauce. My husband got the jerk chicken breast meal with a beef patty. He had the same meal the first time. He said the patty is the best he has had in BC and could be better than what he had in Toronto but can't quite remember. No complaints on the jerk chicken breast meal either. The overall price was good for the serving size of each item we ordered.

Staff is extremely friendly. The owner even came out to say hi to everyone. Great place, great food, lovely staff.

My only issue (and it isn't that big of a deal) is that parking is in the back or along the other side of the street on 152. Give yourself time if you're having more than just a patty - good food needs time to be thoughtfully prepared.

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Back 2 Jamaica Eats, and it was an absolute treat! We ordered several dishes: the Jerk Chicken, Chicken Soup, and Oxtail. Every plate was packed with flavor, but the Beef Patty was definitely the standout—hands down, my favorite.

We also took home some Festival, rum cake, and, of course, more patties for later. Everything was delicious and perfectly balanced, just like the true taste of Jamaica.

What made the experience even better was the exceptional service. The owners took the time to step out from the kitchen to greet each table, asking if we were enjoying our meals. That personal touch made the visit even more memorable.

We’ll definitely be back soon, and next time we’re in the area from Tofino, we’re looking forward to another...

Wow, I'm speechless because my mouth is full of delicious authentic Jamaican patties! I've tried them in stores before, at some restaurants but when i tried these.. my god was I was missing out.. these flavors are phenomenal, every single bite makes you want more and I'm definitely going to have more. Not only are the patties fresh, authentic and delicious but the owner making them brings so much love and joy into it and you can tell when you bite into one of them. I tried the vegetarian patty and it was the best I ever had and can't wait to have it millions of times over! If your looking for delicious authentic Jamaican food, try it here first before...

My wife and I had dinner at the newly opened Jamaican restaurant in South Surrey and were blown away! The service was warm and friendly, making us feel right at home. We ordered the oxtails, which were fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with rich, authentic flavour. The dish came with rice and peas, fresh vegetables, and coleslaw – all perfectly seasoned and delicious. It’s not easy to find authentic Jamaican food done this well, and this spot absolutely delivers. Highly recommend stopping in if you’re in the area – we’ll definitely be back!

Just as good as any Juici, Tastee, or Mother’s patty in Jamaica (maybe even better!). Haven’t tasted a better patty in Vancouver or Toronto. Crust has the perfect texture - right balance of crispiness and flakiness. I’ve tried their beef and shrimp patties, and the fillings are very well seasoned and flavourful - spice level and juiciness are just right. Packaging is top notch - clearly labelled with ingredients and baking instructions. Overall very happy and satisfied. I keep going back for more.
