Update Dec 27th
I was reluctant to do so but I feel I need to amend my original review. I took a bunch of friends tonight and I order the Mattar Paneer again (called it the wrong name last time) and it was like it was a completely different dish. Oily and peas way undercooked, and although I asked for medium spice again it was just hot, didnât even have close to the same flavour.
The server was amazing and my friends food was great so I will still go again but apparently it is a new chef and he makes the dishes a completely different way than before. Our server kept trying to get it made how it was before but it just didnât work. Had to send the naan back at first too as it was soggy and oily and not crispy like before.
Am really hoping it was an off night because we have been 3 times before and loved the food
Original post: December 11th
We went here for dinner tonight and it was fantastic! We ordered the Butter Chicken dosas and the Paneer Masala Curry!
We had a small hiccup with the order, the server only entered 1 butter chicken dosa and we ordered 2, but when I brought it to their attention they corrected it right away! The staff were all very attentive and friendly đ
The Dosas are quite filling, a meal all by itself, and what a steal of a deal on Mondays for just $5.99! And their Garlic Naan is the BEST I have ever had. The curry was amazing too, bold flavours with just the right amount of heat.
And make sure to get a Chai tea. They bring sugar to the table so you can sweeten it yourself. I love this as I find some places it is too sweet!
We will definitely be going...
Read moreI have been to their OG location in Burnaby, and was so happy that they opened their second location in South Surrey. As I have to drive all the way to Surrey for the authentic dosas. Being a dosa lover, their Monday dosa specials are my thing. I introduced my family and colleagues to this place. Their service is great as well. Yesterday I ordered a Rava onion paneer dosa to go. I have had this dosa at other places as well, so I know what it looks like. I was given a plain Rava dosa with chilli paneer (paneer and peppers cut into big cube size) on the side. I had to fill it by myself. Instead of the sabzi, it comes with grated paneer, chopped onion and potato filling. They say that they serve traditional dosas, however yesterday's experience displayed more of an amateur. Coconut chutney was quite watery as well. I would have understood if that chutney was served on Monday specials due to the low price of dosa. But not when someone pays the full price of an expensive dosa on your menu. I guess I will be sticking to driving all the way to Surrey rather than coming back here. This place is good if someone wants basic dosas like masala dosa, not otherwise. Attached pic of the supposedly filling...
Read moreIf you are looking for authentic variety of dosas, your search ends here! House of dosas lives up to its name in a true sense that it offers all types of dosas one can think of! Both vegetarian and non vegetarian options are available and in plenty! Taste is very authentic with sides tasting amazing! They do have other regular items too and all items are reasonably priced and the sizes and portions of all items are mighty generous! Service is very strikingly super fast! You finish ordering this side and the items hit your table the other side so fast! I am not sure how they do it even with lots of crowd!
They have their original outlet started longtime back in Vancouver at Kingsway and the one we visited was the one recently opened at White Rock!
The best part is White Rock has unique offers on weekdays (barring Friday, Saturday and Sunday) Mondays are a must visit as any dosa going for a flat $5.99 only (including their most expensive one priced at $15.99). Checkout on their website for the offers on the other 3 days of the week!
If you go once, you will go many times! I will visit them every week though I live in North Surrey some 34 kms away. I highly recommend this place!...
