The short. Update: Downgraded -3 stars. Won't be back again.
The long. Several times I pay the extra 50 cents to get the habenero sauce (which is great), only to get home and it's not in the bag. Whatever, mistakes happen.
The final straw: I ordered online without sauce. Went into store, added sauce to the order and paid. Order was ready 5 minutes later and no sauce in the bag (I check all the time due to past results). I was told I was not charged for the sauce and was shown the original phone order printout as "proof". They failed to check or just remember the receipt/order that I literally paid 5 minutes earlier with the "misc_food" line item that showed up on the register screen. Instead of being a Karen and making a fuss, I order another sauce and got on with my day. This made me think, they are either very forgetful, don't care, or are intentionally ripping me of (which I doubt). Kind of reminds me of the time in Mexico, where we were charged the foreigners rate for grilled street corn. We only found out the normal price after asking a little kid, since they are generally more honest, lol. We had a chuckle and never went back to that guy. Nor did any of our collegues during our 2 month project.
Short term gain, long term loss in both these cases.
O.B.E Love this place. Real deal tacos with corn tortillas. None of the 'old el Paso' white flour tortillas bs that you find at other 'authentic' Mexican restaurants and supermarkets. They also have pozole here. You don't see that very often in the lower mainland. Reminds me of my travels to...
Read moreWe pick up food often here, and are never disappointed! Everything is fresh, delicious and authentic. Today we ordered a takeout dinner to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. We knew they'd be busy, so we called just before noon to put our order in, and asked if they could have it ready by 6pm. They said no problem. As might be expected they were crazy busy and lined up out the door when we arrived for our pick-up. Despite the craziness they had our order ready for us with a few minutes and everything was hot and fresh. The owners and their staff where working at a frantic pace to keep up with the crowds. I felt bad for them, because there was a rude customer in line and he was complaining out loud about the wait time. Obviously he wasn't smart enough to think about ordering ahead on a Mexican holiday! It's really sad that customers like him can't be more kind during these Covid times! I was so impressed at how polite and courteous the owners/staff were especially as they worked at such a pace under so much pressure to get all these meals out! Thank you Ay Chihuahu for staying open during Covid...(despite some rude customers!) ...and for consistently serving wonderful...

and i waited almost 30 minutes for my enchilada main dish ..
the owner saw there was no order for main dish and offered chips and salsa again to compensate because he did not know how the lady employee mistreated me .
the lady employee showed up and I ask her why she did not make the enchilada dish for me .. she looked at me and said I only paid for chips and salsa then she said it was her mistake and will make the enchilada dish ..
I could see in her eyes she mistreated me knowing better what I had ordered …
I told her I will write a bad review of her mistreatment and walked out .. no one innocent should ever be mistreated...
