Great food and great staff, especially at the 104 Avenue location in Surrey, BC.
Recently, I placed an order for a couple of sandwiches via phone to pick up. I generally order ahead of time so that I can easily pop in, pay for them and leave to go back to work.
Upon return to the office, I noticed they incorrectly made the wrong sandwich. I should have looked at them before leaving to confirm they were correct, but that was my fault for not checking. I called the store to inform them of the error, and was planning on going back there. Before I even had the opportunity to say I'll be coming back to get the correct sandwich, Rob (store manager / owner) apologized for the mixup and said he will drop off the correct sandwich at my office. Say what?!
Such levels of customer service is totally unexpected and was unnecessary, but Rob cares about his business as well as his patrons to ensure they're completely satisfied.
Thank you to Rob and his staff for going the extra mile. You've earned my respect. And I'll definitely be coming...
Read moreEDIT: Went here for a second time and I was extremely disappointed. I read a review below saying that some employees care whereas others don't - it seems that I got the former for the second time and it sucked.
What was more confusing was that Rob (the owner) himself made the sandwiches, and the attention to detail was sloppy. He several didn't put several ingredients in my sandwich even though they were listed on the menu, and my friend's sandwich was sloppily put together (meat on the left side of the bread, veggies on the right). On top of that he had a rough tone of voice and gave off a negative vibe - great way to build your business, bud.
I decided to give it a second go only because Safeway was printing out coupons for them, but don't waste your time. I'd rather go to Subway, you'll get your sandwich quicker and at least you know they won't skimp on...
Read moreFantastic sandwiches!! I really wanna say a no frills, simple sandwich... But that sounds like a negative thing, because that's not what I mean at all. What I mean is no frills as in no gimmicks, "exotic" ingredients or fancy names that are there with the sole purpose of masking a bad sandwich. Here, for example, their sandwiches are literally just a number, and trust me after you eat your sandwich you will not be forgetting that number cough 28.... XD The bread is perfect, it doesn't cut the inside of your mouth like some cheap baguette. The meat is delicious without being saturated in salt and grease (I'm looking at you Charleys). And the veggies are fresh as ...fresh, and always. Every time. Not once have I had a sandwich from here with SUB-par and WAY past their prime ingredients. Big Star Sandwich is...
