Being one of the most reputable cafes in Vancouver I expected the quality of the Surrey location to be similar to the other locations. However out of the 5 visits, I had one good espresso and one alright macchiato, and the other espressos I had seemed to be underexracted. Which is slightly disappointing because it is not a super busy cafe and baristas there have the time and tools to make a great drink every time. Seeing things like a barista taking the time to use a coffee distribution tool, but then to see them ruin it with a very poorly done and rushed tamp is bizarre especially when the person who ordered the drink is the only person waiting for anything.

While I believe the quality of the drinks does not merit a 1 star review, but because of either lazy or poorly trained baristas is why this rating is so low.

In my last visit, after I ordered my drink I was waiting on the side for it to come out and I noticed that one of the steam wands was covered in old milk. I had the benefit of the doubt that being a newer cafe it was possible that a new barista has forgotten to wipe the wand and I believe that almost all baristas has forgotten to wipe the wand at some point of their career. But as I continued to wait for my drink I saw that baristas would continue to fail to purge the wand before and after steaming the milk and not wipe it for all the drink orders that were before mine. Later another barista who was either just arriving or just coming off a break sprayed the wand with, hopefully water, some clear solution.

I'm sure the person reading this understands the importance of purging the wand before and after steaming milk in the context of taste, maintenance and most importantly food safety. Also the unknown solution that was spray on the wand and possibly onto the portafilter is very concerning to me.

Hopefully this does get read since I normally do not write reviews and that I hope the cafe does well. It is awesome to see a cafe open in Surrey Central where the only other options are Starbucks or Blend. Thank you for taking your time to read this and I will continue to visit the cafe in hopes that I will be able to change the review to 5 stars with confidence.

Prado Café is one of those places that instantly makes you feel comfortable the moment you walk in. The cozy atmosphere, warm lighting, and friendly staff create a perfect environment to relax and enjoy great food. I visited recently and was impressed by the quality and presentation of every item. Their coffee is top-tier — rich, smooth, and perfectly brewed. You can tell they take pride in every cup they serve.

The menu has an excellent variety, from delicious breakfast options to fresh sandwiches and pastries. I tried their signature latte and a chicken panini — both were outstanding. The flavors were well-balanced, and everything tasted freshly made. The desserts were also a highlight, especially the tiramisu, which was creamy and perfectly sweet.

Service was excellent throughout my visit. The staff were attentive, polite, and genuinely seemed to care about providing a good experience. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes.

Overall, Pardo Café is a great spot for coffee lovers, brunch dates, or even quiet work sessions. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for great food, great coffee, and a...

Been a number of times over the past few months, perhaps once a week. The quality of the drinks (usually order a matcha) varies by server in quality, composition and temperature. When it's on, it's really nice.

Main problem is the sitting area, it is sometimes open, sometimes closed early with no notice, like even at 2PM. Tends to open more on the weekends. It makes it hard to sit down and do any work. Today, I just bought a drink and sat down and was told 15 mins...at 2PM (again).

Unfortunately, I don't think I can return because as a student, I need some consistency and courtesy. I was a little amazed at that, considering how tough things are on small businesses during the reset.

They also have a sign that says 1 hr limit (they don't enforce it though). I'd recommend the opposite, put 1 hr limit but 30% discount on re-order after an hour...to push more business and push on social media. With city hall and the library next door a ghost town, try to push business not restrict it and randomly close early....

I'm pleased to find a cafe a stone's throw from my home that caters to what this area of Surrey could be instead of wallowing in what it used to be. I only briefly stopped in to suss out their menu on my walk and ordered a flat white. With dark nutty notes and low acidity, I'm walking home devastated it is only available in an 8 ounce. I haven't been able to find a nice coffee place since I had to move to the area a bit over a year ago, and it actually lifted my spirits a bit walking into such a chic and quiet space. I'll definitely be returning. [Edit] I went back the next day and ordered the proscuitto and ricotta toast with arugula and a poached egg. The egg was overdone but the flavour was fantastic and the pricing very reasonable. I paired it with a pink beet latte - creamy is the only note I could pick up on, but it paired well with my late lunch.

I came here to try the Almond Strawberry Latte and the Prado Breakfast. The latte was fine, interesting flavor with almond milk, but at $7.55 it felt quite overpriced. What really surprised me was the Prado Breakfast. For $15 I got a slice of bread with avocado-pea spread, some arugula, and one poached egg. Very basic both in taste and presentation – honestly, I make better at home. It definitely doesn’t look or feel like one of the most expensive items on the menu. On top of that, several dishes I wanted to order weren’t available, so I had limited choices. In the end, I paid $23.6 for a coffee and this meal, and for that price I expected something more filling and special. The place itself is nice, but the food really doesn’t match the price.

It's a nice setting, nice decor and ambiance. But not exactly a great specialty coffee experience. Baristas didn't know much about the beans they sell, but one of them was nice enough to chat with. They had a $5 deal for an Americano and muffin. So I ordered that, and asked if they had other muffin options. They only had a gluten free one. So I said sure. When they charged me, it was $6.30... They said it was because I ordered the GF one... The only one they had available... Also parking not ideal. You gotta pay for hotel stay parking which is expensive for someone coming in for coffee. If you want to buy 49th Parallel beans, go for it. But the rest of the coffee shop experience isn't great.
