Willow Video — Local services in Township of Langley

I live about 40 mins away from this location. There used to be a Willow Videos 2 mins away from me but sadly that location went out of business so when I found this location years ago ive tried to support it anyway I can.

I feel like in a way its what you could consider a vintage store I dont want to put any staffs name on here as I have not asked nor been given permission to do so but if you know who has the dog then you'll know who I'm talking about but I have lots of love for her doubtful she knows me as I dont go here enough to be remembered but every single time I've come here she has ALWAYS helped me with any questions I have with a smile and had no problem checking things online if she didn't know.

This place has a great selection of blu-rays and DVD movies(if your still looking and are old-school and like to have physical copies like me and my family like to have.) If you check online you will also find a phone number that will help you know the price of anything you may be interested in selling. When I inquired about selling some games it was as easy as just taking a few photos and sending via-text and within a few mins I had a response of how much they would give. Came into this store shared what info I was given then badda bing badda boom i made some moola ahahaha.

One major thing Willow Videos does differently from ebgames is they will give you cash(or put on debt) apart from giving you in store credit. Where as ebgames will only give you a gift card and will slash some money away from you if you opt for getting the gift card or give you in store credit. I have found their prices on things to be very fair and at times have found some of their new games to be cheaper then other places like...

I left this place upset today! I brought in a stack of used games all purchased from Willow Video in the past 5 months. When I was only offered $15 in trade in value for the whole pile I thought it was odd. I paid around $70 for all these games together. EB games is offering more when I checked the trade in value on their website. I was heckling the person working for a better deal & eventually the manager chimed in, then said that "they are giving me 50% of the value they plan on selling the games at. They are not worth as much because the value goes down over time." I thought that was funny because just the week before she actually sold me one of the games I was trading for $20 but was offering me $3.75 for it now. Now I initially liked this store because they have fair prices on second hand PS4 games, but most of the second hand PS5 games are priced close to their cost brand new. Also more expensive then it would be to just pick it up new during a retail sale, which is often. I've spent a decent amount of money supporting this business in the past year. Ive always enjoyed popping in to see if they have a good deal on something I want to add to my collection! After the manager explained they have no problem selling $15 dollars worth of used games to me for $75 dollars with an attitude, I felt like I've been scammed in a way. EDIT I am changing the review to a well deserved 5 stars. I really appreciate Jo reaching personally to apologize for the recent experience. We all have our bad days including business owners/managers and not many of them would ever think to go over and beyond to sincerely apologize and even offer a donation to support to our furry family members! It’s a very kind gesture however, I could never ask for such a favour. But truly I really appreciate the thought regardless! EDIT

I would give the store 5 stars but my recent experience wasn’t the best. I totally understand if they cannot accept the two Xbox consoles and games due to low value and abundance but the service itself could improve more for trade ins. The owner I find tends to get stressed so badly during rush hour and I felt like I was being rushed out of there… it did not feel good at all. Also The silver PSP I brought in the same day that they could’ve taken but claimed did not work does actually indeed work when I brought it back home and tested. I’m not sure what they were doing to “test” but it worked fine with my charging chords. The photo was taken the same day upon returning home
