I had an extremely disappointing and disheartening experience at the Boston Pizza Surrey Central branch.
It was a quiet Sunday with only about five occupied tables, yet the server greeted us coldly—without even making eye contact—and seated us right next to the washroom. This was particularly upsetting, considering the rest of the restaurant was practically empty. As a former food server myself, I know how intentional seating choices can be, and this felt deeply disrespectful and insulting. What made it worse was that a nearby caucasian family was seated at a well-lit, comfortable couch table, making the contrast even more apparent. I couldn’t help but feel a hint of racial bias in how we were treated.
I politely expressed my discomfort with the seating, but the server simply walked away without a word. We sat there for several minutes—no water, no acknowledgement. Meanwhile, three servers passed us carrying milkshakes from the bar and disappeared into the back, seemingly more interested in sipping their drinks than doing their jobs.
At that point, I’d had enough. I quietly straightened the menu on the table and walked out without saying a word. I don’t usually write reviews like this, but this experience genuinely ruined my day.
To the management: If you don’t address the consistent poor service and unprofessional behavior at this location, I won’t hesitate to escalate this issue with a formal complaint to your head office. Nobody deserves to be...
Read moreThis Boston is nearest to my home , so I choose to go here. I went for my Birthday last month, the server was so rude and dis not pay attention to us. She took one order, the buser brought it by and then we had to ask other servers like 3 times to get her to come back. When cleaning the table she said can you gather all the plates and then also asked us to pick it up and hand it to her. My friend said we might as well go drop off at the kitchen too at which she got agitated and completely stopped attending us. Then my friends told her that its my birthday so she could get some cake and she goes i can do that in a bit but i’m really busy so it will be 15-20 minutes if that’s ok. I refused it since I was so angry at that time and she said ok as you wish and went away.
Yesterday we went there again for a farewell dinner to my friend. They made us sit in the bar area, and the server again, did not attend us. We had to get the bartender to call her every time because she did not show up for 20-30 minutes each time. I don’t blame her, she was the only one in the area, but every time i would look up she would be standing at a table and having conversations for 10-15 minutes straight. I would recomend people to not go there if you do not want to waste your precious time and come back home angry.
Worst experiences ever. I would never go back there. Rude staff and...
Read moreCame in as a party of 4 adults and 2 kids coming back from Squamish on Dec 4th at 10pm. We were seated right away. However no server came up to us for over 15 minutes! We were ready to order drinks and food. Everyone was tired and hungry. It appeared all the servers were attending this big group. Which we understand but they should still look after their other guests too. My husband stands up to look for someone to speak to. The manager saw him from the kitchen and came up to us. We told her we've been waiting for over 15 mins and no one has come over. She rectified it right away. Took our drink order. Had a server come to us right away - who seemed unhappy to serve us (maybe she was told by the Manager of how we weren't served in a timely manner). However the manager wad great. She said dessert is on the house! She definitely turned things around for us. Food was great and brought out quick and hot. Desserts were definitely a cherry on top. 4 stars for the Manager that night (a caucasion woman... we forgot to...
