If I could give minus 10 stars I would. Had what started out as a concern turn into an argument with our waiter over a drink I ordered - Social Soda. The menu said that it had 1 oz mandarin vodka, soda and belini slush. My concern was there was no way it was any more than a vodka soda and it was missing the belini slush. There was no sweetness to the drink that a splash of belini slush would add. The waiter inferred that the drink would not be legal if they added too much alcohol in the drink. This was not the point. I wasnt asking for more alcohol. This sounded like an inference that I only wanted to get inebriated with the beverage - when I just really wanted to have a refreshing drink as advertised.
We looked up a online image of the drink and showed the waiter who also claimed to be part of the management staff. His response was that photos online don't always represent the real thing and they have a disclaimer re their photos! That's funny if Brown's posts photos you would have an expectation of it being somewhat accurate. Some of the images online were from customers on Pinterest, Facebook and also Brown's, which would indicate that the drink I received was not what other customers posted.
The waiter/manager was more interested in being right than really listening. He said don't worry we won't charge you for the drink. Then offered to not charge for my alternate choice of beverage when I returned the drink. The concern I raised over the ordered drink was never that I was looking for a freebie - this is insulting.
What started out to be a night out turned out to be extremely disappointing. Won't be back which is really too bad as we have been...
Read moreDisappointing would be how I'd describe my recent visit to Browns. We stopped in to order take out and had a drink while we waited. No problem with service in the restaurant as you'd expect, all really good with lots of quick attention. The food we had ordered did take rather longer to arrive than I would have expected, so when I asked what the delay was, we were informed they had received multiple take out orders at the same time. Fair enough. We received our food shortly thereafter and drove the home, the drive is about 5 mins. That's when we realized our food had obviously been sitting for some time before we received it. I'd ordered a burger with fries, both were just warm, a ramen bowl with now congealed noodles and a luke warm broth. The only dish that was immediately ready to eat was the Caesar salad with blackened chicken. I called the restaurant and spoke to a manager (Emma I think?). In all fairness she acknowledged and owned the problem, did not make excuses and recognized our concerns. She offered to replace the food, but as we had already put the food in the oven to heat up we declined. She took our details and advised she would be sending us a gift certificate. I'm happy to say the food after being heated up was good. I've ordered food from Browns on many occasions before and I wont let this one off disappointment stop me going back. It is a reminder though Browns that you're only as good as your last meal and in these times of Covid 19 many of your patrons will be using take out more that dining in. I look forward to receiving the GC and thank you for trying to make...

It's too bad we had this experience, but management is clearly looking after this restaurant as they do reach out to customers. I do appreciate the contact and the manager has made things right.
Took my wife here on News Year Eve, Dec 31 2022 Wife ordered rum and coke, waiter gave her a diet coke, she sent it back because it tasted funny and had no rum, she ordered a different drink. Waiter brought a new drink and told her the bar said there was something wrong with the dispenser and that's why it tasted off. The bill came, and not only was the $5 diet coke on our bill, but the waiter tried to get me to select a 20% tip. If I do tip, which is rare, I leave cash on the table. The waiter waited until I went to the bathroom and then he approached my wife and told her I didn't leave a tip on my credit card I took the $10 cash that I left on the table under the candle and I put it back in my pocket. I told my wife, now the douche gets nothing. This is Canada, NOBODY works for tip wages. That is only in some parts of the U.S. The waiter gets a full wage for the job he was hired to do. But now everyone and their dog seems to think they should get a tip. Should I also ask my...
