Eating out without getting fat can be tough. To keep your pants from getting too tight, you need to mix in a salad once a while. For a tasty salad that isn't rabbit food, check out the Chopped Leaf.
As someone who could happily eat a cheeseburger everyday of his life, I was skeptical of a place that specializes in salads. The Chopped Leaf offers a nice variety of fresh salads that are straight forward, fresh, and full of flavor. These are not some vegan hipster raw food hoity toity concoctions full of lettuces that look and taste like weeds. I prefer the Bangkok salad, the sesame dressing with a hint of hot and spicy is excellent. It even has chicken and noodles. Try it!
The sandwiches and wraps are good, but they are a bit pricey for what you get. Stick with the salads. If you are going to be eating healthy, go for the maximum helping of healthy.
Having to pay for the "chopped" water, a citrus and fruit infused water that they have on tap, seems like a bit of a cash grab. Ordering an entree should include water in my humble opinion. Most places give you water with lemon for free. You can send a text and get a "free" water to lessen the hit on your wallet.
This is going to come off as chauvinistic, but the restaurant comes across as a place targeted for women. Lots of salads, big sign about gluten free, no fries, no beer, no desserts, no tvs with sports. Pretty obvious that the target demographic is not the typical male. I even heard someone say that "my husband would never come here" when having a lunch with my wife. My advice to guys would be to slyly suggest going here as a way to win some brownie points, just don't be too overt about it or else your wife or girlfriend will think that you think they are fat and need to eat a salad. You don't want that. If you're better half suggests the chopped leaf it is the safest way to try it.
Joking aside, the chopped leaf is great option for someone with dietary restrictions. They have many carb free and gluten free options.
So, when your buttons are bursting, or you want to "eat healthy", try a Chopped Leaf salad. Take it from this junk food junkie, they are actually...
Read moreWow Ive been here about 6-7 x and everytime they mess up my order. We usually eat it there so they add what they forgot which in the end is just a minor annoyance. But... last time I took it home... got home and they had given me the wrong salad! So I had to drive all the way back and get it fixed. I emailed the company and told them about my experience but they never responded. I will never go back to the chopped leaf because apparently they dont give a crap about customer satisfaction.
sincerely, off to get a burger..

Well looky here, a response!
Thank you for responding to my review. Do you want to hear the funniest thing? My daughter went last week to your location and ordered two salads for take out. When she got home she was pissed to find that your worker forgot to put the grilled chicken on! So she paid $3.00 extra for nothing. I just laughed. Sorry but the word "gongshow" comes to mind.
These aren't isolated incidents they are pretty much every time. I think what you have going for you is that Canadians are just too polite to say anything. You need to improve your system or fire your staff.
So sure lets give you another shot since you've inconvenienced myself and my family many times. I think we deserve a free meal for 2 after all of your screw ups.
I can only hope that you get our order right. I will set my expectations low and will share with the world my experience.
thank you again for your response now please make an effort to improve your service.
sincerely,
Gerry Mayer

Well I went and got my free salads. I am happy to announce that everything turned out well. Although the girl who made my salads was shaking in fear of failure.
Well what's important is chopped leaf made an effort to make up for their errors. Thank you for that. Your success rate is now 2/9. I hope you will take this all seriously and make a serious effort to improve your service.
thanks again for the complementary meals; all in all the food quality has always been good, its just a matter of getting it right. btw ill bump you up from a 1 to 3! after all ur...
Read moreMy wife and I used to come here 5-6 times a week and loved it however this last year; the location has been consistently making the wraps smaller and smaller and keep adding less ingredients. I understand fuel is adding to rising costs but I would prefer businesses raise their prices instead of making the portions smaller. Consumers for the most part are very sophisticated and we know when business is doing this sneaky tactic of cheaping out on their portion sizes. It’s a shame because I loved this place but the wraps have gotten so small it’s very little lettuce now surrounded by a wrap - nobody wants to bite down on a huge piece of wrap with nothing inside it. There’s too many other restaurants in the area who don’t resort to this type of sleight of hand to trick their customers. Not a good move and I hope you guys go back to how it used to be; maybe then I’ll come back. It really is a shame because I used to love this place. Too bad some people can’t see the big picture. The other disappointing thing that happened is I took the time to send corporate a very polite and detailed email to provide constructive feedback to help improve their location and they didn’t even have the decency to write back and acknowledge my letter. If you don’t care enough about your customers to acknowledge their feedback, why should we support you ? You guys will figure it...
