Sorry to say that today I had an awful experience at cora, surrey which is unexpected. Their food is unhealthy, unhygienic and unclean place to hav food. Their service is very careless. During our visit the table was not clean properly even underneath the table there was dirty water spread all around after seeing those mess & dirt, we asked them to clean. One of the waitress who is middle age, the way she served our food is totally in unprofessional manner. When we ordered our food we said several times and requested not to give any pork or beacon in our food then the other young lady (waitress) assure us they will not give us any kind of that thing. We ordered beef bowl kind of thing (forgot the dish name) while eating we found a hair on the food but we didn’t bother them and try to skip that but the worst thing happened when we found they give pork in our burger brunch, as we don't like to eat pork because of religious issue we can't take their smell as well. (Before discovering pork)While eating we smelled something wrong but we kept faith on them though we didn't complain that time. When my baby smelled the food instantly she vomit and got sick. During that time none came to help us. We seek for napkins and tissues several time to clean the mess. After cleaning the mess we found inside the burger there is pork beacon, When we asked them why they put pork in our food they don't want to compensate us but my husband said that he is not gonna pay for the food but they just consider the burger brunch. We had paid the other thing as we couldn’t eat any of them because after seeing pork in our food we lost our appetite and felt vomiting. They did also bad trick at our bill, before giving order the young waitress told us there is free juice for baby that's why we accepted the offer but while making bill they charged for that juice and explained us that we didn't order any kids item that's why they charged. They should let us know when the food will charge or not. There is a kind of hypocrisy we faced but we didn’t want to embarrass others that's why didn’t said a single other word to them. Read moreZERO STARS. THE WORST CORA'S EXPERIENCE. Walked in at 11am. Seated. Waiter shows up 15 minutes later! Brings our drinks 15 after that. Food brought to us 25 minutes after that Then 20 minutes to try and eat the better part of the breakfast. Potatoes were uncooked. Waitress never came back to serve more coffee to my husband. Mocha was cold by the time my food came out. Our 4 year old girls constantly asking why is it taking so long?? Left half our food. Waitress surprisingly shoes up at the end with the receipt. Told her my concerns. Just apologized and continued putting in the amount on the debit machine. I said I want to get reimbursed for half the food we left on our plates and for serving us uncooked potatoes. If someone came up to us, I would have addressed it right away but no one did. She goes to her manager.... who gave her 2 coupons to give to us. The coupons were a free smoothie drink if we spend $9 or more on a meal! SERIOUSLY?! After this you expect us to come back to your location?? I asked the waitress to bring her manager because we were so baffled. Manager (Asian lady who couldn't speak English properly) comes out and offer me more POTATOES! SMH!! What am I going to do with more potatoes now? I had to get stern and told her to credit me for the uncooked food and horrible service. She finally ended up giving 20% off. We love giving tip, but this time around decided a tip was not deserved at all. On a side note, there are sooo ma y workers confused on what they should be doing. Three people at the front standing. The same three cleaned a table thay became available in front of us and had no one standing at the front. Skipthedishes and uber drivers were standing at the entrance for an average of 20 minutes to pick up food, one even losing it for having to wait for so long. The restaurant is extremely mismanaged. Read moreMy friend and I are not from Canada, we are from the States. We are visiting Canada wanting to try new places and experience new food. We heard of this place and wanted to try it.
We got into the restaurant and were greeted and sat but my server immediately left us without asking us for drinks or any menus. 5-10 minutes later, we got our menu. another 10 minutes later, I had to ask our waitress for water as we wait to be served. Once we hit the 20 min mark, she finally took our order. But, there was no eye contact, hardly any words being spoken, and she left without any acknowledgment.
We were waiting for our food for about 20 mins but have noticed that two tables sitting next to us have ordered, eaten, and are about to pay as we are still waiting for our food. We also noticed the waitresses were talking, checking-up on, and laughing with other tables. Really rude in my opinion. We honestly felt like we were targeted in a way. Like they knew we were tourists.
We finally got our food and as amazing as it tasted, our server didn’t want to help us at all. We haven’t seen her since we got our food. No asking if we wanted more water, napkins, or coffee. She wasn’t even making eye contact with us when she did stop by our table.
Being in that situation was really heartbreaking. We came in good spirits and left feeling unwelcomed.
We had to finally get up and pay at the counter and still no eye contact, no words, she just ripped our receipts up in front of us and we went about our day. I didn’t tip her because she didn’t do anything that’s worth me tipping.
As a tourist, I didn’t appreciate the piercing unwelcomed feeling. I’m really hoping this place works on their staff and how they take care of their customers because that was truly rude and upsetting. As far as I know, I won’t be returning to...
